But I get it, there is a good number of supporters who will death ride him no matter what. I am happy to see how he goes. If he can recapture his form from 2 seasons ago then we have made a smart capture.

All this hate is a little baffling. Hoole was never going to be signed until Ledman opened up the purse strings. For mine he is another option for Miller that we would not have had if not for the new investment. He might start, he might sit on the bench. So what, it's an option we otherwise would not have had.

Hoole isn't the finished product but he doesn't need to be. We aren't relying on him to win us games and score us goals. He needs to get his form back, contribute to the team and, hopefully, improve his game so that he can start scoring and push for a start.

What other Australian off contract should we have signed? Connor Pain (who was on contract) would have been nice but we didn't have an Austin to give up in exchange.
I would have signed Kale Bradbury just for the MFKS posts alone - not to mention the Fap Fest Meter registering 11.

Ffs, Hoole never played under Miller. Why shouldn't he believe the club's run differently now?

Re Hoole... I know he left, he's judas, he said negative things about us, yadda yadda yadda but can someone explain how signing someone better than back up options we have is a bad thing? Assuming we are going to be using visa spots on front third players how is having Hoole as a back up bad? Realistically we aren't going to get anyone better as a non Visa player and the players we have there at the moment don't cut it. Hes a lot better than pav and Brennan and anything we have in the youth. He's an ex jets player of the season and whether or not it was in 'our worst team' I think it is a no brainer

It'll be even better business if miller can improve him and sell him for a profit.

They should play Hoole in goals and make him fight it out with BK.
    Foz would self combust.
    Would be epic.

I really hope we make a play for Troisi. Just what we need. Looks as though hes on his way out from his Chinese club.

    dont be too surprised.
Ill call it as it happened, check the Hoole thread. He does not deserve my respect after he jumped from a sinking ship and into an aidsfest club. Thought it would be quite obvious really. Although he did help sink the smurfs quite well so I may give him another chance yet. Everyone cant agree all the time.

When Carney went to Sydney we were a chance of catching them for a while

It's against Jets policy to sign midfielders that regularly score goals.

I'd rather pay 300k or more for Troisi than 75k for Hoole [although I think Hoole might be on a lot more]

That was under the old management. Let's remain cautiously optimistic and see what happens.

Wasnt it rumoured at the time that both the Jets and Sydney tabled $250k offers to Hoole?

Why do people think Troisi would want to come here? If he comes back to the HAL he would want to go somewhere to put himself back in the shop window. We play all our games at shite times and are barely on TV, no commentator or reporter gives a toss about us and we haven't made the finals in 35 years. Someone like Holman or Wilkshire who wants to get paid marquee money might come here because they would want to know exactly how many extra fans they bring to games and to be paid accordingly, Milligan would be a long shot but he isn't getting any younger and he would walk in as captain and could probably earn himself an after football gig as well.

I feel bad for you guys who think we have a realistic chance of signing someone like him or Timmeh this year, or probably next year, but we have so much crap to sort through behind the scenes that it's just not gonna happen. Top 4 is a realistic aim with a couple of attacking players and some decent coaching. Once we show people that we are a functioning club that can pay it's bills and keep it's word then we can start talking to top level targets.

I love you all and hate being a negative prick but someone has to do it, and i lied cause i love being negative and you all smell like cheese,

$100K sounds way too low for a self absorbed little prick like that, would've scoffed at min $175K with his belief he was gonna be the next super hero to hit Sydney, you sure about that figure???
Life isn't the same without Con... but it can only improve without Tinks...

Straight away we offer a different appeal. If we are going to be exposed to China, where there are huge contracts on offer, it's appealing to any player. Look at the paper today and the exposure the kids have already had.

If we can utilise this to bring better players into our team we will start getting better broadcast times and the like.

He played a few for Perth. He only played 38 minutes for us as a sub for BK against the Roar.

If this signing comes off, I'm not displeased.
