The Italians parked the bus from Kick Off playing for pens
Germany got the goal and started to control the game.
Then a meltdown from Boateng from out of nowhere and the Italians were back in the game
The Germans pushed the pace searching for a winner in Extra Time and the Italians played for pens
Some abysmal pens in the first 5 from each side and then they got much better in sudden death
The last one for each side though were particularly poor
Triumph for attacking play as opposed to defensive play
I thought both coaches were poor.
Lowe made 2 subs for injury only and wouldn't change it up
Conte done nothing after Germany got in front as the clock ticked away he got lucky
Even in ET there was 1 last minute sub before the pens

It seems like there has been so much of this to me. I have still enjoyed the football (who doesn't love international football) but even some of the group games teams seemed to be holding back and I think it started because of the 3rd place teams qualifying. A draw in group stage was a good result. Teams really knew they only had to win 1 game to get through.
That has carried through to knock out stages, obviously Croatia v Portugal was probably the worst game for it but this one was close to on par.
So i guess if Germany wins the Euro, the winner of Wales-Portugal goes to Russia next year

Would expect them to invite one of the Bigger Elite nations like Italy Argentina Spain Brazil etc rather than the Portuguese or Welsh

They have the artillery to beat Germany and are going to be cheered on by a home town crowd so going to be tough for Germany to beat.
I doubt France will roll over like Brazil did last time Germany played the hosts
Marseille is the best place to play that game ..... They can really get behind les bleus like nowhere else in France

I really hope for a France v Wales final, the other two teams have been underwhelming for me. Portugal obviously, but Germany no where near their best.

I watched both these sides play in the Maracana 2 years ago.
The French offered very little resistance that day.
2 years development and a home ground will make up for it later this week
