I've been following it closely...like a countdown.
When Boogaard is out of contract at season's end. I reckon we could do worse than signing Tongyik. Watching the Olyroos and the kid is a beast.
A garden rake would be a step up from Boogaard
It be interesting to see what Bert does with this squad next season as he gets to put more of his stamp on the recruitment
As long as there’s no massive abandonment a la 2008, I don’t think he’ll change a lot. Just a few minor tweaks here and there. Maybe bolster our central midfield stocks a bit, but otherwise the squad is in good shape.

Clut
Shabow
Kosta Petratos
Brown
Cowburn
Jackson
Think we can strengthen in this area and get some better value for these lower paid players
On that list I'm happy to keep Cowburn and Jackson at the right price. I think we might see Thurgate come into the senior team next season.
I'd be looking at the squad in its entirety rather than trying to micro manage it and bring disharmony to the squad.
I mean at what price would we release Kosta Petratos given a lot of clubs will be wanting Dimi on their books - might sway him to leave ?
I'd let Clut and Alessi go and maybe Brown - although on recent form Brown is definitely making a case for himself.
Clut has had plenty of time to cement his position in the squad and I have no idea who Alessi is so it's hard to make a case for him.
Shebow shows promise and would be cheap enough to keep for another year as he's still young.
Boogs might need a pay cut but He's been good recently as well.
NTS probably deserves to be the highest paid of our centre back pair.
Finally though, the way the team is playing and recent success / great coach means we finally won't be paying overs for players anymore.
Players will want to come here - may even do it for less that elsewhere so they can play exciting football - which they won't be able to do at any other A-league club - especially SFC.

Not quite. He was signed by Miller to a two year deal (which would have expired at this season's end). Jones extended his contract for an extra year after 1 A League game, I believe this was the last contract decision he was allowed to be in charge of as Griffo was brought in after that in his current role.
Miller signed Brown to 1 year, Jones extended it by 2

Clut - Agree
Shabow - Would be on minimum wage I would think, happy to keep on that for another 12 months to see if there is more development otherwise replace with Thurgate or Antonee Burke who I have heard looks like he has potential
Kosta Petratos - Another who would surely be on the minimum, I would keep purely to keep Dimi in the head space he is now
Brown - Is still on contract but if we could offload I think for a decently paid foreigner we could do better. I'd be seeing if the club could secure McGree in this sport permanently
Cowburn - Keep IMO, Very versatile squad player who is capable at A League level and still young enough to have improvement
Jackson - Another I quite like and think could improve. However if Tongyik was available I would sign him over Jackson in a heartbeat (although I would replace Boogaard with Tongyik and keep Jackson)

If Rodriguez and Vargas both sign on for next year then some of our other attackers have to be let go. Agree with Dunster's thoughts on Kosta, if it helps keeping Dimi around then he should stay I think. One of Clut or Shabow has to leave, although both have done ok off the bench. At least one fullback should be let go. Between Georgievski, Vujica, Hoffman, Johnny K, Cowburn (if he stays), and Jackson there should be plenty of cover there.
Potentially look at a young striker although someone mentioned Thurgate may move to our squad next year.
In the next couple of years we are going to need some centre backs too.
Wouldn't be surprised if we have to fend off offers for a few players, and potentially may lose one or two if the offers are too good to turn down and we have available options.
Nope, Miller signed Brown for 2 years, then after the Roar game in his 1st season he was extended by an additional year.
