    2018 Asian Champions League

That Thai team, Buriram United, nicked a 1-1 draw away at Evergrande. I'd love Evergrande to stuff up this campaign but they look so slick.

Victory attacked quite well, finished very badly and defended awfully. Copped another handball decision that was wrong, IMO. Berisha and Valeri are cooked as players, I think.

Probably because the Thai team aint a bunch of mugs

What makes you think they cant play??

They would probably win the HAL if they were in the league

Thai Premier League is just lacking in investment and expertise

They got the players and the fans already

There was a vast gap in ability between Buriram's players and Evergrande's, as you would expect. That's no disrespect to Buriram.

So yes, Buriram are decent: they beat Roar in a playoff a few years ago. I'm unsure they'd easily win the A-League, though. But you're the Thai expert, not me.

Muangthong beat Roar last season and drew in Brisbane so it aint a one off

They also got out of the group unlike Roar and Ulsan Hyundai

Points wise as the AFC ranks countries we are behind Japan China Korea and Thailand now

It dont help when the teams we send are imitations of how they were last season when they earned their spot

To think ****s were blowing up because the Socceroos drew in Bangkok and didnt smash the Thais in Melbourne
Arrogant ****s who ignore the reality that these guys can actually play

Former Romani defender Alex Wilkinson says Sydney FC "did Australia proud" in Shanghai.

How do people here feel when they watch other A-League teams do well, or poorly, in the ACL?

I like A-League clubs succeeding. I'd even feel pleasure if Gosford reached the second round.

depends. gypos, sydney, wanderers, victory and city, more than happy to watch them crash and burn.

roar, depends on the coach/key knob in the team at that time. perth, ditto.

adelaide are about the only team i'm happy to see do well.

but i take your point about the undoubted good that comes from any of our domestic teams performing well in asia.

Shanghai Shenhua in their current lineup are nowhere near the team they once were with Anelka, Drogba, and Griff.
We are talking about a team that finished 11th last season ffs in the CSL - and somehow managed a victory in the Chinese FA Cup
Sydney FC failing to get a win is a national disgrace.

What a load of hogwash....They are a different team, but still good enough to play in the ACL. Asian teams (excluding Australian teams) will do better each and every year as Australian teams stay still (or go backwards) depending on how you look at it. The Asian teams do not have a salary cap, they do not have an inept FFA that hold them back, and a lot of resources are devoted to football. Compare that with Australia, what has the FF done to advance the A league? trying to kill of football is what they have done. FFS Brisbane could not even afford shirts with numbers, and you try telling me that some Asian team is not as good as they were a few years ago.

How good was deadshit Brosque admitting they arent all that great against teams with good skill, and that it's easier in the league because they just get up in peoples faces kick crap outta them.

Yet we've employed that same coach to try and get us to beat teams with better skill players than us.

Oh yeah this is gonna be fine fine, nothing to see here.
