Your academy isn't built to produce players for Chelsea's 1st team. The entire ethos behind Chelsea for the last 10 years has been to scout talented youth players, give them better money than other academies, give them 3-5 years to improve, loan them out to subsidise those wages and then sell them for a profit bases on potential rather than impact. It's brilliant from a money making sense and it's working a treat.
It's also crept into your first team, as soon as a young players value begins to depreciate you put them up for sale. KDB, Salah, Cuadrado all had slumps after a year and as soon as someone offered more money than what they cost your board had no problems selling.
Buy Low, Sell high. Drop anything that starts to drop in price. Wall Street logic.
