James Meredith on the other hand... would fit that left back spot well.

I'd love to see Meridith here but he would probably prefer to stay in England and will have enough offers to do so.
I'd happily throw the remaining money we have on Spiranovic or Jurman (disgusting to say I know) as our defence looks like NPL standard at best bar a fully fit Topor (which he currently isn't). I'm happy we got Nipples and Wessi but we really needed to replace most of our backline. They did the getting rid of part but forgot the replacement part. Classic Jets.
Problem with Burns nowadays is he isn't quick enough to move out wide, he isn't smart enough to play in behind and he doesn't score enough to play up top. I guess he could be a backup striker to come on and slow the game down/waste some time or if we're lucky nab a goal against a team pushing too many forward. But I don't think we have the money available to sign him either way.
We lost Champness and havent replaced him. I agree with most of what has been said but i would still take Burns just because i think you would get him cheap.
Spiranovic i would take in a heartbeat, love the bloke! He can also play in the midfield which may mean we saw less of Ridenton....?
WE DON'T DO WALKING AWAY !
Have Sydney FC announced Joey Champness as their Hip Hop Marquee yet ?
Last nights News said a new signing will be a announced next week, any ideas?
