Right then, so Ritter, Jesic, Ribz and Ryan left. I'm assuming Gibbs is a straight swap for Jesic, except for way less money (a squaddie that people will howl about he's not being given any chances), so he'll be on minimal wages.

So that leaves 3 places, definitely 2 international spots (maybe 3) and an Australian Marquee. There should be plenty in the kitty to make a splash.

We still need a CB, a #10, and a top winger. Doesn't leave the club much room, especially if for some ****ing reason we sign Musualik (Zad, Koala, Pepper, Regan, Oxborrow, Chapz, Kanta all can play in the same spot). The next signings have to be top class, otherwise its another season of mediocrity.

Duncan has also left so that would be another spot available

we'll sign Stu, GVE will then play him as a CB, then relegate him to the bench and eventually the youth team.

Just wish they would splash the cash for Bosnar, can defend, plays out, is experienced, Aus marquee material.. maybe, can take a free kick (wow what will that be like having some actual danger around the box). I'm sure we'll get all that from some random bloke who we eventually want to scrap after 12 months anyway, he'll be our "x factor". At least with bosnar we could have some fire works between him and GVE when the season inevitably goes to shit, would at least keep the Herald and foz ticking over in these dark days.

Just think how it would be being a local lad in the youth team and how you would feel every time this club signs another young player for the senior team!!!
This whole "connecting with the local community" is a farce. From the moment last year about 12 months ago when Oxborrow and Cooper were signed on "apprentice" contracts for the Senior squad instead of the likes of locals like Hoole and Bradbury, to the bringing in of Sydney boys like Ilic (he's gone now), Pavicevic, Pepper etc. in preference to our lads coming through NSWIS and local clubs it's obvious that what the club says and what it actually does are two completely different things.

Don't think he was on a senior contract though, part of the reason he left?

As for Pepper, stopper, pretty sure he is originally from Newcastle, not Sydney.

Duncan was on the apprenticeship deal. He left to be a number 2 keeper as opposed to number 3

Pepper was a Merewether Junior - his Dad was Vice President for a number of years.

Not talking about Jacob Pepper, I'm referring to young Nick Pepper.

Kewell released by Al-Gharrafa. We could sign him and play him on the wing

No one cares about passing backwards. As long as he is fast with good engines, that's all we need for a player to get second ball off the big mans noggin.
