McKay isn't really a number 10 either. We really don't have a need for him while we have Zad & Caravella on our books - unless Zad is going to play RB where he's wasted a bit.
Thanks Pv4. I've lost a bit of touch with what's going on the last few weeks so cheers. I didn't realise Burns was for the left. I expected him as #10 or right

    Relax lads.
Don't even bother having the McKay debate. We ain't getting him, and if we ever did it would be in 4 years time on a 3 month loan.

    Classic Middleby.

Remember that he was rated our best player at the Asian cup by everyone for a reason. Lack of game time and a change of coaching has clearly affected him, but if he signed for Victory I think he'd be back to his best pretty quickly.
Exactly. People on here are legit rubbishing the idea of signing a guy who starts every game for Australia.

So on that basis you feel we should sign Lucas Neill and Brett Holminhio???

Rubbishing everything about the club/players/other supporters is the status quo in this place.

McKay is definitely not a no10. When at brisbane he played as a box to box midfielder, him and murdocca kept their midfield ticking.

He's a great player but he's not really in a position where we're lacking players. Would prefer a decent CB or a proper LB, not to mention possibly a striker if/when heskey bails.

We wont get him imo, we wont even go for him.

McKay is 10x the player Zad or Caravella will ever be. He'd replace one of those guys easily.

But he'd never come to the jets anyway.

To be fair the club/players/other supporters provide plenty of ammo sometimes.

Lets not kid ourselves about the standard of our squad, or the aleague.
I'd take Neill and Holman in a heartbeat.

They'd kill this league..... and then not be fit enough for Brazil.

    its called a win-win.

Holman maybe.... but Neill didn't exactly kill it for Sydney last season.

Yep, I thought the same thing when I saw that post. Give Neill a proper season and he'd easily be one of the best players in the league if only for his experience and leadership qualities.
Same with Holman, might look a bit sloppy when he's up against AAA opponents, but he'd look like Messi in comparison to most of the culprits in the A-League.

I doubt it Militia. That bloke plays with the grace of a one legged man at an arse kicking comp regardless of who he plays against. How this bloke ever played for his country or got a gig as a professional footballer is the stuff for an Royal Commission and ICAC enquiry
