I'm all for having a player show passion for the club but that doesn't mean you go off acting like a dickhead blowing up at the ref.
Just leave the shit cheating ref to your captain, everyone knows this. The only way you're going to influence a ref during a match by blowing up at them is ENCOURAGING THEM TO BIAS AGAINST YOUR TEAM.
We all know this from playing on weekends, it doesn't change from grass roots to professional football.
I love griff, love his fire etc but it needs to channelled. Get stuck in, harry defenders, get rough in corners etc but be ****ing smart about it FFS.
