we'll prob end up with Osieck......he'll do it for cheap
we'll prob end up with Osieck......he'll do it for cheap
I love Jones personally, but as the head coach I have some issues:
- I see him having similar issues to Zane in terms of attracting players
- I'm led to believe he's been pretty unsuccessful with the CCM Academy stuff he's been doing. I'm not sure if there is a base to my thinking here, it's just what I'm led to believe and I haven't bothered to research further
- I have doubts over how much Zane would learn from him over the course of a few years in this whole "let's make Zane our future head coach"
But in saying that, he's local, used to be loved by the players and was around during our successful spell, has a head on him that I think would see him attempt to sign good players regardless of age etc, as opposed to the fluffing about like GVE did, etc.
OK
I would rather we were kept in the dark on this matter until it is signed sealed and delivered.
That is the sign of a professional club.
Speculation is for us nutters who support this rabble and the media.
I actually want the surprise aspect of the club to announce we have signed x and then go **** we done good there
I won't go in to it (as I've been warned about saying things publicly on here about him before)..
Others on here know exactly why I feel/think the way I do..
I'd prefer my 101 year old grandma or PV4's brand new deck to be in charge of the team, rather than that scumbag Jones..
But but Arnie’s a done deal, Flores is going to be our marquee, we sacked all those coaches.
I doubt he was ever really serious, we were just the fall back option. Bloke thought SFC would make their decision quicker than us, until they indicated otherwise, looks like he’s shot himself in the foot though. Will be so pleased to see SFC appoint Osieck or some other OS coach and Arnold can be left with nothing.
coaching discussion to the other thread please

sack bridges
Middleby on NBN
* Wouldn't go into the reasons why they pulled out of the Arnold race, but his long term committment to the club and ambitions weren't in the clubs best interest to pursue.
* Asked if Farina was a consideration. Simple answer was "No"
* Expected that the coach will be named next week.
Glad Middleby ruled Farina out, he would have had a riot on his hands.
Middleby Gone
Lawrie Out
I'm hearing that, despite the comment today, Arnold is definitely still in the picture. Would say stay tuned for a back flip.
Love all the assumptions on here the last week or so....the facts are the Jets have talked to some candidates (one is Zane) and then talked to Arnold when he became available and never said he was the prime candidate.
Now the assumptions by the forum and the Herald are....coaching staff sacked in prep for Arnie, multi year deal offered, agreement to let him take on the All Whites job, Flores coming as marquee, Leicester City buying the club, Griff will sign on for Arnie blah, blah, blah.
The Jets haven't released any of this information, so we cannot be sure that any of the above is true.
I have some thoughts (of course, not based on fact)
The coach will not be Arnold - my gut feeling is that his head isn't right and he has no real idea what he wants to do, hence the holiday.
It won't be Bridgey - he isn't qualified, end of.
It won't be Zane - too inexperienced and if he was staying they would not have sacked the other staff who he knows well.
Next week is gonna be fun !
