Funny Stat.
The only Premier league player to score against Ter Stegen at Camp Nou was Egyptian legend Mohammed Elnenny... Was a cracker of a shot too.
Also Stanny, many LOLs as usual.
My input into the greatest player is as follows.
If you measure success by trophies. Maxwell is the greatest player of all time. (although Dani Alves may have just overtaken him)
If you believe football is a team game then Busquets is the greatest of all time.
If you believe winning a match with fear before you even walk into the pitch is what matters most, Henry is the greatest of all time.
If you believe skill is most important, no one did it like Dennis Bergkamp. No one could control a ball like he could in real game situations. Anyone who disagrees can fight me, haha.
But since there is no way to actually quantify the greatest player of all time.. who gives a shit. Lol.
his bitch ass whinge after getting smoked in the '06 final removes him from any conversation.
bloke was trash and a sook.
Also, interesting stat from Tyler this morning that Liverpool already have more points this season than Arsenals invincible year.
(and they still gonna come 2nd).
Also, relegated that year, future champs Lester.
Arsenal havent won since.
Therefore Vardy > Henry.
He wasn't the only one whinging. He has also won one. Plus, if whinging takes you off the list then Messi and Ronaldo are definitely gone. So is Arzani too. Might want to rethink that criteria before we run out of modern players and have to start talking about Di Stefano and Eusebio with Dunster and the other old farts.
So the 5th?? time someone has taken more points in a season? Shows how much tougher the competition must have been back then.
Vardy is a poor man's Shane Long.
In 03/04 there wasn't such a severely obvious outlier in the last few spots like there currently are, I'd like to point out. I would also just like it on the record that in the bottom half of the table that year was Sp*rs and Man City (and Everton nearly got relegated if I recall correctly).
I think I read Liverpool are currently on SAF's best ever points finish too, with 2 games to play.
But Liverpool will not go thru this season undefeated and winning the league, and may not win the league at all like SAF did a dozen or more times. So both comparisons are as pointless as the greatest ever player debate comparisons.
OK
To be fair though he can now start trying to gloat
Liverpool are going to.achieve the same as Spuds will
Win **** All
Play in.a European semi final
Gain UCL qualification next season
Chelsea on the other hand still can
Win a a trophy
Play in a European Final
Qualify for the UCL next season
Chelsea if they win the Europa will have had a better season than both Spuds and Liverpool would have
Stanny has every right to be pissing himself laughing at the prospect
I read a stat the other day that if Liverpool win their last 2games they will average 2.55points per game which would be enough to win 117 out of the 119 years of English top flight...the other 2... man city last year on 100pts and this year on 98(if they get there)....
I want us to win the title an/or the champions league but if not the season isn’t a failure, a little disappointing yes but not a failure.
