    Should have won.

As good as Kokko is, he is very lazy and unfit.

Saw him in the warm up and he was buggered after a few sprints.

thought Kokko was dangerous when he finally got on the park, and still cannot understand why it takes our coach so long to get him out there when he is clearly threatening to score, him and Nordstrand combined from the start of the match could have made a real difference to the score line, Jones is lucky he's got a charmed life as a half serious owner would be looking for a replacement coach after letting poor selection and coaching decisions throw that match...
Life isn't the same without Con... but it can only improve without Tinks...

Still don't know why we just let opposition teams take the ascendancy and give them free possession early in the game. We let every shit team play against us like they're barcelona for the first half hour.
Second half came round after an uninspiring first and was a bit different. Nordstrand's goal was ****ing awesome, perfect ball from Nabbout and excellent composure in the finish. Got the whole stadium going including our team who had been half asleep til that point. You could see it instantly make a 50% improvement on performance (conservative) and we nearly took the lead 30 seconds afterwards just through people giving a **** and playing with intensity and desire to win. The last half hour they were at our mercy and it wasn't due to the extra player either. Came close to scoring half a dozen times. Noddy summed it up well after the match, its not the worst result but it feels like a loss. All things considered though, I've left that stadium in far worse moods than I did yesterday arvo. While we didn't end up getting the win it was great to see us actually put a team under the pump for a long extended period and create constant chances while doing so.

Team was ~ok~ yesterday. I'm glad Clut finally got a start, didn't think he was outstanding but he has 100% deserved to be starting imo. Coach needs to tell the team to pass it to Noddy whenever they have the ball, bloke will make shit happen for us and also makes a lot of excellent runs that don't get noticed or capitalised on. Instead we pass it to Hoole. Team going forward should have following players in it: Nordstrand, Kokko, Ugarkovic, Clut, Nabbout, Brown. Play whatever you need to to get our best players on the park. Suggestions -

    4-4-2 / 4-4-1-1
    Kokko
    --Nordstrand
    Clut - Brown - Ugarkovic - Nabbout
    Vujica - Fyfe - Koutroumbis - Cowburn/Hoffman
    Duncan

    or

    3-5-2
    Kokko
    --Nordstrand
    -----------------Clut
Vujica - Brown -----Ugarkovic - Nabbout
    Koutroumbis - Fyfe - Cowburn/Hoffman
    JD

I still think Hoole could work out. But I agree he needs a reality check. If he can bench Ugar for whatever perceived issues he has (who knows) then Hoole should have been hooked already, at least temporarily.

Agree that those guys need to start. I disagree that Hoole could work out. He is one of the worst professional footballers I have seen, his end product is abysmal and his decision making is twice as bad as his end product. I thought Poljak played ok yesterday as well but Ugar needs to be on the park.

Good summary Macca. After watching Man United squander 3 points on Sunday morning, it turned out to be an incredibly frustrating weekend of football, but at least neither team lost.

Can someone explain to me why Uga was benched? I feel like I've missed something.

Hoole definitely needs some time on the sidelines. Too many times yesterday he had the ball with one or two in front of him and even from 60m away I could see the cogs turning slowly, trying to figure out how he was going to beat his man. 9/10 times it didn't work.

I also think Noddy, Nabbo, Clut would be just as good at taking FKs, and I was surprised to see Cowburn standing over one near the end. Surely he's down the pecking order!? I would have liked to see the Chinese kiddie get maybe 10-15mins for Nabbout who seemed to be struggling for most of the game after hurting himself in the 1st half.

Based on the Chinese player's butchering of his first touch under no pressure when we were in a prime attacking position late on, maybe it is best he did not get on any earlier, worse touch than most All age players

Same can be said for one of Mortens touches, he was not only in the flow of the game but one of the best on the park.

He was wide right, ball got slipped to him just outside 18 from the centre of the park and he tried to take his 1st touch with the outside of his left foot so the ball continued to roll towards the corner instead of bombing towards goals.
Its basic football skills that let us down time and time again. A simple right foot touch even directly forward would have put us in a really dangerous goal scoring situation.

It’s the little things that can change a game and he is one of the best quality players we have. Says a lot!
WE DON'T DO WALKING AWAY !

    Add me too..
Only reasoning I can see is if I refer you to the Jones Out thread..
Out of his depth, no idea, speed-dealer, clueless, dumb-as-a-stick, etc etc..

Agree Poljak was decent yesterday. But yeah I think Ugarkovic has been one of our best players since he signed - I'm not sure halo why he is not playing. I recall when he was dropped Jones said (generally, not aimed at him, as there was a few changes) that he felt players weren't putting in enough effort or desire. If this is the reason then I think its misplaced, sure he's no Zadkovic but who needs Zads when you've got Xavi. Agree on the FK's, Hoole hasn't been terrible but neither has he been outstanding. At least the shot attempts. His general set pieces have been pretty decent I think.

I'll reserve judgement on the chinese player for now. It wasn't a great first touch but pretty sure everyone here has ****ed up an easy first touch for no reason out of character.

I'm guessing Cowburn took one near the end cause Hoole had had a couple cracks and Nick thought he fancied the idea of being a hometown hero. He probably takes them alright at training, didn't I hear he was a midfielder before he moved to the senior squad?

He touched on it very vaguely that he thought Uga was good but not great a few games ago and that maybe a bench stint would help, something to that effect

My mate tried to justify some of Hooles shit yesterday and at a point I just stopped paying attention, blokes useless

I think Cowburn use to take fk's in the youth team and would bang a few in, could be wrong but I remember hearing that

Although in one ten second play he looked not good, I do agree more so cause we can't afford to lose Nabbout above all else so getting him off the park would've been safe

The rumour was while he was riding high and killing it, he went on FoxSports and got dropped because it was perceived his head was getting too big.

Don't want to give anyone confidence now, do we.

Funny Goodwin was dropped under GvE, left under Stubbins...there's more to this Stevie U-G deal than meets the eye, is my bet. Why drop your best midfielder? Doesn't make sense.
