Disappointing morning but I can easily say Liverpool didn't deserve the result. Napoli were better through the most. In rainy conditions, the pitch seemed to tear up a fair bit and Liverpool couldn't get their passing game working. Napoli pressed well and defended as a cohesive unit. Allan and Koulibaly were standouts for me. Liverpoo, looked tired through out - an effect of the Chelsea game and/or conserving energy for the game against City on the weekend? Unsure...

Agree the pitch didn’t look great and the reds definitely looked tired but it’s pretty hard to get a passing game going when you pass it to the opposition nearly every time. TAA was dreadful and got no cover from Salah. VVD was ok in patches but left a few passes well short. Think the reds performance was summed up by the robbos clearance after Napoli hit the bar.....cleared it straight to the man on the top of the “d”. Was probably one of the worst and most frustrating performances I have watched from Liverpool in quite a while......even from some of the rubbish teams we have had in the past...at least they were rubbish...these guys could be great.

Teams have off days. In the run of 4 games between Chelsea in the Cup, Napoli and League and City in the League, I see the Cup games in that run as the lower in terms of priority, given especially the result against PSG.
