Speaking of which, Every Time I Die were just added to your Unify lineup Stanny..
If you end up going, make sure you check them out..

The missus and I are heading to that next year. Gonna act like we are young enough to camp at a festival still, haha.
I've missed Underoath 3 times in the past so couldn't turn down this chance. A heap of other bands I either haven't seen or are keen to see again too.
I've seen ETID before, they killed it then and will probably do the same again.
What are peoples thoughts on politics in music??
Yeah or nah?
Just got me thinking, cause ETID singer got stuck in to Trump supporters lately (basically saying how please he was that he didn't see any MAGA hats in the crowd) and had a lot of them blowing up at him about alienating them..
He then proceeded to tell them "at what point in my 25 year involvement with a socially conscious hardcore/punk scene did I give anyone the impression that I would pander to bigots? my band doesn’t need you. nobody does. smash nazis at every turn" - I haven't worked out how to copy and paste twitter stuff..
you would have to contend that politics has been a major influence on music for all of eternity yeah?
but yeah the amount of artists expressing political views 'outside' of their music seems to be much higher nowadays, and its prob got a lot to do with access to fans via social media. Id imagine if Twitter were around in Bob Dylans day he'd have some things to tell the world.
One thing you always have to watch with successful artists who express their views is that for the most part they are old rich white people and therefore actually take full advantage of they system they are openly 'rebelling against'.
for more information go check out U2 and Bono. Absolute hypocrites, but hey, he pays his bills on time so good for him.

Jeez, anyone who hit puberty between 1995 and 2005 gonna be in heaven.
Very hot and cold on that lineup, personally. But I can see what they are trying to do, well played.
I just hope they learn the Soundwave / BDO lessons and don't implode after a few years. Keep it to 1, maybe 2 stages, and make it more about the bands than a social event.
Yeah, like Frodo, I can see what they are trying to achieve with that lineup.. It's not terrible..
I'd only be keen to see The Offspring play Smash in its entirety though.. Pretty sure Self Esteem would be worth the ticket price alone..
The rest of the bands on there don't really do a great deal for me..
I know there were plenty of bands in those years that turned rubbish, but those guys fell off real hard and real fast. Smash is a great album tho, not sure I could justify the ticket price for it tho. Most of the other bands are bands that I kinda like but wouldn't spend money on. (I never want to be dragged to another 'The Used' show again if possible, so no words to the missus about the Bon)
However, I can see one of these in a year or two being chock full of all my favourites so I genuinely hope it goes really well.
Problem is if people don't go to this one citing lack of a line up then we don't get more. Also Offspring are superb live. Well worth going for then
I just didn't get them.
I like a lot of music from that scene but they aren't one of them. Bert, the singer, can sing like a mofo but I just never found any of their stuff I could stand listening to. The missus was a fan so got dragged to a few shows. I'd end up loving the support acts and just stand still whilst they played and went 'meh'.
I have the same relationship with AFI. Great music, Davey Havok can sing, but I just don't get them and can't stand listening the the lead twat go on about his issues.
This sounds more like my problems than the bands inabilities, haha.
