You make a very good point.
Topor was on a huge contract well beyond what he would have been demanding elsewhere and Elrich's form was probably not in line with what he was being paid either.
The same might be true for Poljak at WSW. They probably found better value elsewhere.
Alternatively, when coaches are not getting results they usually point the finger at the players rather than their own inadequacies. As such it could be argued that Topor and Elrich were shafted by a coach looking to shift the blame for the teams poor performances and Popovic given his teams poor performances may have done exactly the same.
My opinion is that while Poljak is technically very sound he doesn't bring anything to the table when it comes to goals - and midfielders need to score goals or at least be able to thread a quality pass to a striker.
