Should we be looking at some Australian youth overseas? We have around 10-15 18-23 Y/O keepers playing overseas now. Throw a similar amount of $ at them that Birra was on, with some decent scouting and our Goal Keeping coach, who knows.

Odds are they'll be better than half the shit no other A-League team wants. Cheaper too.

If BK plays this season then we sign someone on 55k minimum wage or better yet a Yoof contract as the No 2 to sit on his arse match day

If something happens to BK then you are allowed to bring in replacement ASAP anyway so exploit this

Come end of season either back BK or release him and go sign a good keeper.

It would be absurd for Millertime to fritter away our salary cap signing a bloke to be keeper and have a 6figure salary as the back up. If he don't rate BK he needs to get rid now

I agree with this line of thought. The 'keeper market was pretty devoid of talent this year. Next season might be different.

I agree, unless the new owner is willing to use the homegrown cap concessions. Then BK's salary comes off the cap and we could go about getting a decent keeper who might actually help the side make the finals, instead of a bad haircutted ponce who stands still and watches free kicks fly past him every week.

I would have thought BK sitting on the bench all year (beside when Birra was injured) is a pretty clear indication he's not the quality we need.

He's been here for years and any time we get another keeper, of any quality, he is benched.

Time to get rid of him (or put him on the loyalty system) and get someone else who is quality. Not from another A-league side...

Or get some young Australian gun from OS on cheap-ish coin and train him up to be first choice.. (I'd rather this than spend coin on a proven GK, in our current situation, being owned by FFA.)

Sorry mate, but the only keeper that's kept him on the bench over the last 5-6 seasons has been Birraz, and BK even managed to bench Birraz once i think as well. Birraz is talked up as one of the best keepers in the HAL at the moment and is about to move to Europe to hopefully have a very good career.

BK may not be at Birraz's level but he is probably at HAL level given the current talent on offer. I would say he is of similar quality to Jamie Young and Redmayne and they didn't do too bad this year.

Keeper isn't the position that we need to be stressing over just yet. We need to stop letting teams have 1,000,000 shots on target every game before we start blaming whoever is between the sticks.

If I'm Miller, I'd look all over the NPL and even towards bench keepers at other teams and pick out someone to sit on the bench.

Although he was always a good keeper, I feel Birraz easily had his best season this season gone with us. This was also our first full season with Van Strattan who Birraz seemed to like. Maybe BK under Van Strattan could see him new and improved
