Chinese leagues now finished, Spiranovic's club got relegated, even though we are in need of a center back, he will sign with someone else in A-League... watch this space!

Signing him would be a clear sign of intent from the club.

Would be nice and it makes sense, but I very much doubt it will happen.

Can we sign him though? Do injury replacements need to be on a similar wage, or is it just the same position? Or neither and I'm making shit up?

Yeah...and watch our competitors find wriggle room in their cap to accommodate him OR
worse still, the FFA sets up a new category with the discretionary payments outside the cap
for said (Sydney) club: 'Homeless Socceroo'
I suppose as a Socceroo he'll just end up being a Season 2016/17 Guest player for said Sh!tney club
and the FFA will bend over backwards to say "Oh yes, young Matty. Current Socceroo - will put bums on seats...bla bl bla bla".

But Mullen wouldn't be on a bad wage. Not a Socceroo wage but not a bad wage

So now Jackson doesn't need surgery, and injury replacements are 12 week contracts, am assuming we will be relying on NYL players for CB back up.

Does anyone know why we haven't signed an injury replacement keeper? I heard there was a problem with the keeper from Wollongong we were looking at

I believe he is actually scarily overpaid, but the problem is more the time period in that he will be back sooner than the length of time required to qualify

Considering back up keeper Pierce Clark is injured and not travelling to NZ it would be wise to sign a candidate right now.....Hoffman is tall, maybe he should deputise for one game (At least that would take him out of the starting 11)
    Dare to Zlatan

He is loud-mouthed as well which is useful for keepers. 2 Good attributes, Jeez we should be coaching this club not Phil Spector.

Tweeted Lawrie. Got a response. He's under contract and nothing can be done until January window.

I thought that was common knowledge, even if he secures a release he couldn't play until January 1st.

Yup, sounded like a stock answer rather than a hint that anything has been done

I find the GM talking about player movements and contract matters a little weird man.

I know it satisfies the gossip girl in you all but it's a very fine line he's treading talking about players livelihoods.
