I think if put Muscat in charge of the Jets we'd have a surplus of ex A-league players joining the NNSWPL competition.
He wouldn't accept 2nd best.
As far as only managing a quality team with plenty of money that's not always easier either.
There is a lot less pressure at clubs like the Jets and Mariners than at the Melbourne or Sydney clubs. There would also be a lot less ego to contend with at the smaller clubs as well.
I'm not saying tactical issues aren't important but the further up the ladder you go it really becomes as much about man management as it does tactics. Higher paid players also have a lot more influence as well. Look at someone like ETO as an extreme example with respect to his national team - he essentially ran the team at all levels so great was his influence on the sport.

Great managers cab do it with different levels of resources
Blokes like Conti can do a job
He has done it at Juve doing it at Chelsea
Where he has had resources
Done a quality job with a limited squad with the Italy NT
But has also got 2 clubs promoted from Serie b to the top flight
Bloke has a fair idea about running a football club
Then you have someone like Guardiola
Dominated in Spain with Barca and Messi
Dominated in Germany with Bayern
Both in two leagues that are dominated by 2 big clubs
But the poor bloke has NFI it appears when coaching in the EPL
Even with a highly talented squad that is at the top nd of the league on talent without the significant advantage over the other teams he is being shown up
Bridge back on the radar according to the herald. Apparently injury is a hairline fracture in tibia with 8 week layoff. He's back running after 4 already. Talks are jets asking for allowance to sign him for this season if he is released after the transfer window closes. Can see the FFA squashing that
They got beat by a ball over the top to Ibini who bullied one defender and outpaced another. I hardly see this as being tactically outplayed.
Until then they gave as good as they got and probably played the better football. Same as the first time they played Sydney, where they deserved to win.
Plenty of time this season where Muscat has got his tactics spot on. They were the form team in the comp up until the last week (when admittedly they lost three in a row).
F*kn well hope FFA quash it, any excuse to not have wankles back despite Griff's glowing endorsements.
Apparently Brennan is training with Chiangrai at the moment - opportunity lost, coulda been a straight swap for wankles if we'd played our cards right...“We still need clarification from the PFA (players union) and FFA with regards to what we can and cannot do if he is released after the window closes,” Griffiths said. “There could be an exception made. It is in the hands of the Thai club. If there is a mutual termination, we will attack.”
Griffiths has no doubts that Bridge would provide a “lift” approaching the finals.
“Looking at the squad, Bridgey would be a perfect asset to bring in,” said Griffiths, who played alongside the striker for two seasons. “He has the experience – he has won grand finals, won Asian championships, played overseas – and is a big-game player. There is no point signing someone if they are not going to improve the squad. I have played alongside Bridgey. He takes a lot of pressure off other players. That is the beauty of a good player.”
Life isn't the same without Con... but it can only improve without Tinks...
why are we so obsessed with mark bridge ffs, surely we can sign some other jabroni
Personally rather have nordstrand and bridge then Kokko and nordstrand as our striking options. Opens up a visa spot whilst keeping the same depth of strikers
Brennan signed for Bentliegh greens in the Victorian NPL - never mind he is on trial
We have also taken on Jayden Prasad from brisbane roar youth, not sure if he has signed or just trialling, saw him at training looked decent.
But that makes it 6 former roar players potentially at the club
Clut, Jackson, Petratos, Sawyer, Champness and potentially Prasad

If there was a zombie apocalypse and there were only 2 strikers left in the world, Bridge and Kokko, I may agree with you on Bridge.....begrudgingly.
FFS the guy is 31 and has a leg fracture....and we are still going to sign him. This club will do me. How about we actually recruit someone decent.....who doesn't have to be someone Jones has already seen. So farking lazy

Yeh I agree to an extent. I'm just giving some reason as to why we would be keen on him. Still frees up a visa spot to go after a top line striker. Bridge probably offers you more then haliti if his career is coming to an end. Love Labs but well past it in my opinion. Bridge offers a little more in desperate times
