I reckon the opposition will struggle in the conditions in Melbourne

Haven't met a Thai yet who likes it under 25C

Our blokes will be home tomorrow as they have a charter flight organised

The Thais be lucky to get here by tomorrow night as they be stuck in Bangkok to morning

    They don't travel well

I expecting us to go through them easily once we kill the contest

I wouldn't be surprised if we put 4-5 past them
They will quit once the contest is up

    Fold the federation.
Burn Double-eff-aye headquarters to the ground.
Install Con as new head honcho.
    Griff to coach.

Watch em rise from the ashes.

    Yes

So a 3-0 win for us and a 1-0 win for Saudis would put us both level on points Goals scored and goal difference as both would be on 19pts and have a F 17 A 10

As we won and drew one game we be ahead

See this is the bullshit knee jerk response we as Jets fans actually miss out on as Football fans

As our shit **** team are never really playing in matches where the result matter we forget that there are always twists and turns on the journey

Sure as shit the result wasn't the greatest last night
Sure as shit would rather have played better and got something out of the game

But the result wasn't unexpected and the scenario we find ourselves in we have been staring down the barrell of since November last year

It now our turn to stand up and deliver

If getting the job done in Melbourne is enough to get us to Russia then so be it

If it not then beating Syria / Uzbeks over 2 legs and then Panama/ Honduras etc can't be done then so be it

We don't deserve to be there

    The fight ain't over yet

If we can't put 3 pass the Thais in Melbourne with a forecast of max 11 degrees then we may as well stay home next June

I think Milligan has to return to that DM role. Here's hoping Mooy is fit. We lacked anything without him. Rogic gets found out without him on the park.

Rogic was OK but the Japanese midfield was too disciplined and diligent, and never gave him the room to do anything. He was trying to dribble against two close markers all the time.
Should have adopted Luongo's approach which was the first time / quick layoffs, he actually had a good game I thought in attack and was responsible for many of our attacks.
I hadn't seen Irvine play in the deeper role before, he was OK in possession but hasn't quite got the vision although he had a couple of nice passes. For an "enforcer" type bloke his tackling and disrupting of play was actually quite poor, a few dangerous Japanese attacks went through or past him first with a good chance to stop it.

Luongo and the CBs get a pass mark for me. We have the CBs to play possession football and they find some nice penetrating passes.

Brad Smith is a donkey and shouldn't get near the team again, fmd.
Kruse went OK and did a lot of good defensive work but as a lone striker this left the team with no outlet too often. Compare him to the Japanese striker whose hold up play was outstanding all game.

I feel like the main problems were 1. Smith and 2. Not having a proper CF. Too many times we moved the ball into nice wide areas only to look up and literally have zero players in the 18yrd.

I agree with that. I was surprised McLaren didn't get a run.

Luongo was best on ground for us. Move milligan into dm next to him then replace rogic with mooy. Gersbach for smith. Juric starting. Would love to see a formation change but no chance it seems.

I thought the three biggest surprises were

    1 the selection on Rogic
He is a 70 minute player so you have to hook him if you start him

The last 20 mins when space was opening up we have him on the bench

To me Ange missed a trick there as the game was always going to be right and space at a premium early on

2 Milligan played CD rather than DM
He is the best DM in the squad why play him at CD when controlling middle is the order of the day to me he was wasted there last night

3 Starting with Kruse as striker
Not that I rate Juric but I would start with him due to his size as an outlet

Either that or try and squeeze 50/60 mins out of Timmy

Robbie postolcoglue(how ever you spell it) is shit, didn't offer anything, has a rare disease, cantshootatem australis, only ever found in over rated players, also known by its common name, headless chook syndrome.

So why wasnt anyone else offering a way on goal except Robbie. I know he's a bit dodge but the others are retarded near attacking box.

Japs came with their physical A game. We didnt give up physically but our organisation and setup was putrid. Ange was a part of that.

Not sure if we have a coach to fix it either
