I'm just so excited to find out the name of this great marquee.

I've heard he grew up playing the same game as Ozil did when he was young, wears boots with studs like Suarez does, had a zidane shirt when he was boy, and has had his hair cut with a pair of scissors like Messi once did.

I've heard rumors he's got even more tenuous links to a whole host of other great players for the media to milk way too much copy from.

Vargas did his ACL a few years back and has a long history of serious injury problems since. He will not cope with the physical nature of the a-league.

I dont know if that classes as a long history of serious injuries. Yes the ACL and patella problems were more severe but they were back in 2012. Since then he has hurt his elbow for 2 weeks and a groin and abductor strain (common football injuries) so not sure that rules him out of dealing with the physical nature of the league. Doing your ACL also doesnt mean you cant play anymore - yes there are players who have never been the same since they did it but there are also a heap of players in all different sports who have returned after an ACL repair.

Before his injuries he was hot property - now he's talking to the a-league club holding the wooden spoon - the maths is pretty simple.

It's official, Vargas is in, and as Marquee.

Will reserve judgement till he plays.

Wouldn't be upset if they lined up like this.

    GK - Duncan
    RB - Hoffman
    CB - Boogard
    CB - Topor
    LB - Georgievski
    CM - Brown
    CM - Ugar
    AM - Nabbout
    AM - Dimi
    AM - Vargas
    ST - Roy

(Or Vujica at LB and Georgievski at RB)
