Next teams in will be from Sydney and Melburn.

FFA love derbies and bringing in an extra Melburn team and Sydney team triple the amount of derbies.

Also these cities have the population base to sustain it.

Wollongong and Canberra may have claims but can not compete with the big city teams for a prospective success story for the FFA

Owners will walk away if their team is relegated.
Players will insist that their contracts allow them to be released if their team is relegated.
As for the supporters of the relegated teams their interest in the league would diminish rapidly - much like supporters of NSL teams that were not a part of the A-league.
Overall, if any club was relegated from the A-League I'd say that they would be as good as buried and dead.

I wonder how long before the salary cap gets the flick and the teams in Melbourne and Sydney can completely dominate proceedings ?

yeah i really don't like the idea of promotion and relegation in australia. it's not something we as a sporting nation are used to and i don't it's a disaster waiting to happen.

My thoughts on this are they will attempt to bring in a Wollongong/South Coast Wolves side and somehow try and bundle it in with the Shire to get that axtra derby.

Being an old Wollongong Wolves supporter i just can't see the Wollongong/South Coast side of things welcoming some sort of team inclusive of the Sutherland Shire.

Brisbane Roar has today confirmed Liam Miller’s departure from the club by mutual consent.
Miller, who joined the Queensland club in May 2013 and made 24 Hyundai A-League appearances for Brisbane Roar, has been granted an immediate release from the remainder of his contract to pursue other football opportunities.
Head Coach Mike Mulvey praised the Irishman’s contribution to the squad throughout the club’s Premiership and Championship-winning 2013/14 season.
“We brought Liam here to strengthen our squad and play good quality football – he was an integral part of our success as a squad last season and we thank him for his service to the club,” Mulvey said.
“It’s always disappointing to lose a player of Liam’s calibre but both player and club decided this was the best outcome. We wish him and his family all the best for his future.”
Miller scored three goals during his time with Brisbane Roar, including one against Melbourne Victory in January that was hailed as one of the best team goals ever seen in the Hyundai A-League.
Nailed on to be a Jets signing, surely?

What's the rules on Visa players coming in on injury replacement? I seem to remember a few years back both Sydney and Perth had more than 5 Visa players at one stage.

Fair bit of 1+1=3 in a few recent posts.

Can we please be careful of perpetuating whatever it is that may it may not be being perpetuated.

    this.

So when we get relo'd. we would have a decent shot at the title, maybe.
