Merrick was a good fit for the Jets, I thought he was good for the club. He played good attacking football.
But in the weeks before he was axed, the Jets were woeful and rumours were that he lost some of the dressing room.
I'd take him back, but I don't think now is the time for that. Maybe in a couple of years when the squad has turned over a little player wise. Merrick is also 67 years old, so if he doesn't pick up a club soon he may just hang up the clipboard.

They only reason they went out on loan was to balance the books post-COVID and because we were running short of money. Now that the money situation is sorted I would hazard a guess that at the very least Donachie would be coming back at the end of the IPL season (unless they offered a decent transfer fee to make it permanent), and we already know that Millar is also returning.

Both will be at training this week but wont play for two weeks to get some proper training, Was in the Herald this morning. Millar had to go to Melbourne for a Funeral, Just arrived back in Newy and is training and Donachie is still in India I'd assume unless we'd heard otherwise

From the team we put out yesterday, Italiano is signed, Millar wants to go back to England, Jackson I don't believe is signed, Topor-Stanley is off contract, O'Toole, Yuel and Thurgate are signed, Prso and Najjarine are on loan, Stamatelopolous and O'Donovan are only signed to the end of the year - so 4 players. Even the subs - only Hoffman and Goodwin are signed on for next season.

The club isn't competing this season - it's participating. It's making up the numbers. And that's why there's such an apathy about the joint - they know they aren't here next season.

IMO the fourth is a proxy for Lederer using Lederer coin meaning the split controlling the club is effectively 50% Lederer and the the remaining two parties 25% each.

I don't think for one moment the Stevie deal happens if we were controlled with equal interest by ALL other club owners, Not just a select few with an element of anonymity involved.

The pressure could just have been uga's manager going "release him, you're just being dicks and you'll get more money".

Lederer is full of it and Mattiske's fierce defence is just him insuring his position and pay cheque up here.

Anybody who frequently visits the WSW forum will clearly see the pressure being heaped on Lederer and Johny T by the WSW fans this season. They are under enormous pressure to deliver this season and Lederer and Johny T would do anything inc raping this club to achieve a final series appearence. WSW management could not give a shite about the negative publicity surrounding this signing.
