I mean it's nice that some bits have caught up to the books but wtf is with some of the other bits? They've ****ing lost it. I think I might just give the rest of the series the bin unless GRMM carks it.
There are a gazillion theories out there about his death. The return of Melisandre to Castle Black (she never leaves in the book) links in with one of the theories... with her being a Red Priestess and bringing him back to life (same happened with Thoros, the dude with the flaming sword from S1/2 and Lord Beric Dondarrion). The big nerd theory out there is that Snow isn't actually Ned's bastard, he is actually the offspring of Rhaegar and Lyanna. So he's actually a Targaryen... and the ultimate nerd theory is that him and Dany get hitched and save the world from the white walkers.
Or something.
yeah i've already spoiled myself by stumbling across those theories.
the main problem i have with the show this season has been the writing. it's either been slow and boring or rushed and devoid of any logic.

So did Jon Snow die in the books? Did he even get stabbed?
I've heard the 'witch lady brings him back' theory and assume it's legit.
Watched the first episode of true detective last night. I thought It was pretty good.
i dunno if i liked the first ep
there was a bit too much going on for me. one of the first series' main strengths was its subtlety before a big reveal of a character flaw or plot twist.
and old mate just happened to find the body randomly while going for a motorbike ride with his lights off. seemed a tad hamfisted to me.
