Kostopoulos winger/striker that got let go when gombau took over and brought in his spaniards. I thought he had potential but alas gombau had to make room.
I think most people know about smith. Wiki has him scoring 45 goals from 44 games at fnq fury the last couple of season. Can play anywhere in the front 2/3rds basically.
Kostopoulos never got much time at AU. IIRC he played in a couple of ACL games. Lanky striker who never looked particularly dangerous. Another squaddie when we need more quality.

Nah, baby was sick. Two teammates played for the B's though so I'll ask them how he was. From what I heard the B's didn't touch the ball much, and the intensity was very high.

From an Adelaide fan... "He did nothing. Scored two tap ins against MV and did nothing else in his other 20 games. Only got time because his dad was best mates with Kosmina"

2 more trialist, seems to be an abundance of them this year.

With the squad at 18 + 2 Visa Guys hopefully, it seems Miller wants 1 more back up Attacker.

Which is a worry cause we are incredibly short of numbers in CM and LB/RB. Unless we are playing a revolutionary 325 formation.

What is the maximum squad size? I guess the salary cap situation will determine if we can fill all positions.

Is Cowburn still trialing with the club? It's looking less and less likely to me that he will get picked up.

Didn't the Dishonourable Member say that Cowburn was on an NYL contract which means he is still "contracted" to the club but only gets match payments, not a senior contract where he has his guaranteed 45k a year or whatever it is for U23?

    23 + 3 NYL Trainees (Lundy is 1)

But Miller and Co said 21 is more likely cause of the Cap situation.

Really hope Kanta and Cooper "come of age" this season.

I really think Kanta has fizzled out and wont be in the a-league once his current deal expires. I think cooper might step up to the plate this season tho

    x2

    Kanta never fulfilled his potential

To think Bayern were reportedly interested when he was 17

May have been a completely different player if Bayern got their hands on him, to be fair.

Injuries are what has troubled Kanta. He's still got plenty of time to overcome the injuries and get back to his best.
In saying that Taj Minecon was far and away the best player I had seen in the NYL and he fell out of orbit and has been floating in space ever since.

The problem I've noticed is with each injury, whether it be a legit injury or a punched-in nose or whatever, Kanta seems to be getting slower. I don't know whether the injuries have led to this, or if he's just getting slower due to his size/weight variations over time, or whether I'm just making it up in my head. But he seems distinctly slower than back in his Magic, and early-HAL days, and I find that a detriment to his game nowadays.

Note that I realise the irony of me saying this, when I myself have been likened to Per Mertesacker, who has been accused to turn slower than milk.
    OK

I think his mobility is an issue. He used to close players down very quickly giving them no time on the ball. In more recent times he's not puting the pressure on the opposition as much.

I agree. If there is a problem with his physical condition I think he is surrounded by the right people to sort out the right body composition for him.

At 23 I reckon he is fast running out of time to go above the level he is at.
