Mooy didn't get the ball because Kanta shut down the distribution.
Which is what Cooper didn't do in the first half.
Which is one of the main reasons Miller made the change.
Which is what Miller told everyone after the game.
Thats not to say thats how they'll do it every week, the fact Miller started Cooper says that the bloke is good enough.
To clarify, I'm not saying Cooper should have shut it down a la Kanta. Just drawing attention to the disparity in judgement.
Essentially, Cooper's 1st half = Mooy's 2nd.
Yeah it's pretty ordinary.
Lets cut Cooper some slack FFS sake we are only 4 games into the season, he has started one game where the team overall were a bit flat and some are already writing him off.
I would rather be talking up Kanta how he looks like he has finally found his mojo after injuries and lets face it he has worked with some uninspiring coaches since he burst onto the scene as a 16 year old; GVE, Culina and Stubbins. Someone actually told me once that he heard that when Kanta first started playing under GVE he was instructed to just pass the ball and not to shoot!!!
Anyway all the players they look like they are enjoying their football playing under Miller and JPD and Kanta the way he has started this season may just have his best season to date in his career.
I do remember the moment the member is talking about - we were running left to right as the TV sees it, just past halfway and Cooper delivered a killer ball to setup a goal.
Not sure of the scorer or opponent but I have a video somewhere I'm sure.
EDIT - it was that 2-0 over Heart, Cooper played a lovely through ball to Taggs, who dinked it over to R.Griff.

That makes it less funny
It'll be filed under "players to loan to division 3".
I disagree with your first sentence too. HAL teams are more likely to sign 30 something foreign journey-men than Aussie kids to the starting line up, or they continue the merry-go-round with never-has-beens like Isaka Cernak.
Yeah from a league wide point of view it would be interesting to see the proportion of kids getting a run. Def Adelaide and Perth are exactly as you say, but Victory and Sydney seem to have blooded a fair few with success.
Def say the Jets would be the club that has stuck the most in though*
*may or may not be true because I generally only watch the Jets because **** every other team.
Makes it less funny.
Not my fault you blokes have short memories.
Remember the game quite well at home back end of season in Heskeytmes first season here and Heskey scored after 10 mins
Eli Bablaj showed what a donkey he is by butchering 2-3 golden chances in the first half
Goal to Ryan Griff in the last 10 mins sealed it 2-0 for us.
The finish was sublime from Ryan Griff lobbing the Heart goalie from inside the 18 yard box but if memory serves correct it was closer to the 6 yard box than the 18 yard line
What made the goal was the ball from the young sub Mitch Cooper with the outside of the foot 40 yards out which started the entire move.
I remember when Kanta was about 17-18 and a mainstay of the U-20 Socceroos and was going overseas every few months to tournaments and qualifiers, GVE done him no favours by not resting him enough I feel. Quite often he would be back from overseas and within a couple days or so would be rushed back into the line-up. No wonder by the time he was 20 he started having these injury problems.
Didn't he break something on U20 duty at the U20 WC or something? Then came home, should have had a spell off but was back and an unfit inclusion into the starting line up?
edit.
Nevermind, realised it was the other way around. He had just come back from a knee reconstruction, hadn't played club football for 6 months and was called up and named captain for the U20 WC in 2011.
