Cold Chisel. They made one very good album. The rest contain a few great singles but overall mostly contain filler. Could be ok live though at times - but not tight like Birdman or Oils in their day.
Midnight Oil. You need to see them in a small venue and if it was before 1980 then even better. Album wise the first three albums plus the Bird Noises EP are still great listening today.
Unfortunately, the fourth album 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 was the start of a new era for the band and a lot of fans from the early days like me don't really care much for it or the albums that followed.
The raw energy captured by the earlier albums was starting to fade as it got drowned out by the political messages. By the time you get to Red Sails in the Sunset I'd go so far as to say you are talking about a completely different band .
Plague have you spun the first three albums and the EP ? Because chances are you will like them if you don't like the political Oils shit.
