Anyone seen Dunkirk??? I thought it was really good but makes me glad I wasnt alive back then
Heaps of new trailers coming out of comic con.
New Thor looks kind of lame.
Justice League looks lamer.
I have no idea what Ready Player One is about.
Lego Ninjago movie is going to be funnier and more original that anything else on show.
Been watching a few movies.
May be mildly spoilery.....
Logan: Boring. It was obvious from the start where it was going to end up and they tried to pass it off as some sort of 'final' chapter but it was nothing of the sort and opened it up to carry on with more and more sequels as long as they can get Daniel Craigs agent to rep Hugh Jackman.
I hate every X-men movie but have seen them all many times and always watch when flicking past. I guess im hoping they have fixed them from the last time i watched, but alas they are the same drivel.
Lego Batman Movie: tried way too hard. Batman was great in the Lego movie but it dragged on way too much where he was the focus. The Lego movie was outstanding and very sharp. I was disappointed with Batmans spin off. Big hopes on the Ninjago movie out later this year.
Fate of the Furious: *disclaimer*, for some reason i find these movies very entertaining, and completely dumb. But we are now at the stage where someone needs to take the 'literal' keys off Vin Diesel and let someone else have the cool lines and big moments. yes he owns the franchise so it will never happen but The Rock and now Jason Statham were fun in this one, but every time things got going we'd cut to old Vin doing some dumb shit to make sure we knew he was the real movie star around here.
Kong Skull Island: Surprisingly good. How many times you can tell the "big monkey' story in a new way is obviously limited. But they just got straight into the action, showed you the monkey and ramped it up from there. Yes its mindless popcorn stuff but its shot really well and had some cool twists. (slight spoiler ahead) Shae Wigham's death scene legit made me laugh as it was totally unexpected. if you dont take life too seriously give it a go.
Agreed Plaguesey.. just watched Kong Skull Island and loved it. I nearly cried when Samuel L said hold onto your butts. Having John C Reilly play that role was i thought pointless and overkill. Agreed re Shae's death, was fantastically outrageous. Loved the twist in the usual story (it reminded me of the recent Godzilla movie where we supported Kong for being our defender, and I rated that. And unlike the recent Godzilla, they actually.showed the monsters and the fighting ffs), loved the array of giant beasts, loved that they didn't force the lady love story too much. Hiddleston's ninja scene in the graveyard was absurd. And yep, how great was how they just got into action. Just enough buildup to warrant it. That was a great watch.
OK
Saw it last night, really really like it. (although watching it in german was strange, stupid swiss cinemas) I found it told a really good story and interesting way it done it.
I can sort of see where your coming from. The rest of the group i went and watched it where a little under awed as they thought it would be a straight out war movie shooting etc etc, with the little dialoge it makes the viewer to intrepret and understand situations.
The score I thought was brilliant.
Historically it will go down as a great movie, one of a kind.
Amigos Aarau
i found out at my great great grand pappys funeral he was a Dunkirk veteran (the union jack on his casket at the Cathedral piqued my interest).
the old fellas still standing at his wake gave me a good talking to about their service.
sign me up to that group that are glad to be alive now and not back then.
proper hard ****s those blokes.
I watched "Opening Night " on Netflix last night. Basically it's a Musical Rom Com - and pretty funny as well. It only goes for about 85mins so not a bad way to kill some time and have a giggle. It's a lot better than I expected.

ok im bored and there are no good movies anymore.
so, heres something we were talking about the other day.
Pick your best 10 action movies of all time.
Criteria:
Only ONE movie per 'star'. Hence, pick your best Arnie movie etc etc etc.
Must be proper action movies, so be careful with choosing any wack Superhero/Space movies.
There is only one correct #1 and anyone who doesnt put it in will be deemed ineligible and ima come around and take your telly and smash it because you dont deserve it.
My list.
1. Die Hard.
2. Terminator 2.
3. Raiders of the Lost Ark.
4. Point Break.
5. The Dark Knight.
6. Lethal Weapon.
7. The Empire Strikes Back.
8. Fast and the Furious 5.
9. The Raid:Redemption.
10. Rambo: First Blood Part 2.
Also, im allowed to change my list if any of you blokes come up with something better.
