I can only assume that the Member is giving Sam the ultimate compliment and is saying that she hasn't quite been as good as Modric, Messi and Ronaldo this year.
Otherwise he is being a bag of opinionated doodles and we are all about to be schooled in stupid.
I aint got much time for womens football as we all know so I will bow down to the fact that all her peers around the world didnt rate her in the top 3 as confirmation she isnt all she cracked up to be
Wouldnt be the first time the Oz football public have cracked a fat over someone and made out they are a superstar when they arent

I have expertly broken down the video.
Strengths:
* Kicks off both feet.
* Lethal from 4-8 yards.
* Has good ability to deflect the ball off opposition players.
Weaknesses:
* no assists.
* relies on bumpy tracks to make his pens bobble over the keeper (get the moto x back at stadium pronto).
* didnt track back or make a tackle. Completly useless on defence.
Looks like another dud signing from Middleby.

Extremely impressed with how he seems happy to strike with either foot and from distance. Would guess he is right footed as he finishes more with his right but plenty of left foot strikes, including from outside the box. Just adds another dimension and makes him harder to mark.

Isn't the U21 thing only relevant to HG players? He certainly doesn't qualify for that.
Not surprising he isn't fit... did he ever play the full 90 in the A-League?

Ritchie De Laet is not a great player at all. He can't get minutes in a Championship side who's best defender by far last year was a 37 yr old John Terry. He is up against Alan Hutton and can't get minutes... Alan freaking Hutton!! He was loaned out last year and played 8 times for a Belgian 1st division side.
I know this league is rubbish, but he will honestly fit in quite well. He is on holidays for a year earning Championship wages but with no pressure to perform what so ever.
Jamieson - La Rocca - Schekenveld - De Laet
That's not really too troubling to come up against.

We conceded 37 goals, 4 more than City did last year.
We didn't dominate teams, we attacked very smartly and efficiently.
City have a better attack than us this year on paper I agree. But they won't be dominating teams in defence like Sydney did the last few years, that was more my point. City don't have a squad like Sydney did last year so i'm not getting over excited by them. Same goes for Adelaide, Victory and Sydney.

Sydneys dominance was more tactical rather than personnell as such
Gypo Arnie just picked at a fault of Aussie players
Their desire to retain possession at all costs and play out from the back etc thanks to the Dutch Mango sucking indoctrination and exposed our poor technical ability at retaining that ball whilst under pressure
So all Gypo Arnie did was get his team super fit and then teach his team to press well and hunt in packs much much better than seen in Oz before
Gave them a significant advantage over their rivals that took nearly 2 years for teams to start to get to grips with
Nothing revolutionary in the World
Just him exploiting a weak point as Ange did before with Roar and his Tikka Takka shit

Refs don't win you games. They got help yes, but still had to do the work.
They had a great game plan, which was pretty much what the member said, and executed it well. They also had a very clinical bloke up top and 2 guys who could feed him the ball quickly.

Stay woke.
- all fan sets to take flares to opening games.
- after 6 weeks, FFA announce a list of clubs to be docked points for flare use.
- Sydney FC to escape ban due to no fans to rip flares.
- WSW get off with a warning, because you know, that’s what they get.
- Round 7 derby to be talked up as a top of table clash and sell out.
Can’t believe nobody else has seen this.
* I don’t think the derby is in round 7, if so, lucky me, but FFA to change draw.

I cannot imagine that is the kit, the picture looks pretty poorly done.
The blue jets kit section looks good but!
The blue section is this year's jersey. It's the same as a picture involving Vargas re-signing which Lawrie said on the Jetstream Pod was this year's jersey.

I’m a huge fan of Iceland’s kits.
Not sure it’s something that would suit a darker blue.
My personal persuasion is simply Kits. The more complicated the more it starts to look like a run n cuddle jersey.
Unfortunately, this modern age is calling for new strips every year as they can sell more shirts.

The best kits in the world are simple, this brilliant, it actually looks like a football kit!
I agree the black has potential but needs some gold, red or blue trims to it.
The white and gold, i don't mind but don't love. Agree that it is similar to the original white and gold away kit we won the GF in which is probably why it seems better than it is!

Haven't bought a kit for a few years cause they always look like trash. These 3 look awesome, now I've got to spend all my money's in one year.
White and Gold is delish.
Blue kit is nice. So much better than the washed down knights jerseys of the last few years.

yep, looks like they are holding football to ransom in order to tackle all the big issues.
Also, they are worried the A-League clubs running the A-League will be at the detriment of grassroots football. If only organisations like NNSW etc had enough time and track record in order to keep rego costs down, not have outlandishily expensive rep pathways and work together with other federations and other involved bodies in order to streamline the football family tree.

Northern didnt ever make it out that they were Lowys lackies
It was every two bit journos coming up with these assessments of NNSW NT ACT and Tas Feds coupled with every nutter on Sockah Twitte having a crack because they were buying the medias spin hook line and sinker
Where Northern failed is being clueless enough to let weeks go by whilst their name was dragged through the mud of public opinion.before opening their gobs to state their point of view on the matter
End of day these small feds were never going to be Lowys lackies but more concerned with their own continued existence and keeping their power in any reform

He actually states that Northern has no issue with the proposed congress make up. And has made no mention of problems against the A league clubs running the league. The problem is that they should have vocalised this weeks ago, it appears that they are in board with the bulk of the proposals but see some finer details that need tweaking, this is perfectly normal in such a big change to an organization, this seems a bit different from the ACT who are just in Lowys pocket. The media keep calling Northern a small and minor player with Tas and ACT but NNSW have more registered players than SA and QLD

I don't think the issue is that we resigned him. It's the timing.
You give me one reason why we shouldn't have waited until mid season?
We can't change what he is paid this season as he was already contracted for this season on x amount of money. Surely he can't accept a pay cut to his wage this season in order to ensure he got a job next year? And if so, would we be able to use that extra money on other players? That seems dodgy to me and we aren't smart enough for those sorts of things.

if it wasnt the Jets with a flat out gypo in charge id say we've locked him in for one more year then put down on paper a 'post playing career' contract. If the club was smart it would prob save a few bucks on his playing deal by giving him a position for the future hanging out at junior presso's blowing up the Maccas kickabout thingy.
regardless of peoples opinion of his playing ability, he is prob as good as an ambassador the club has had recently (that will hang here post career) so it would make sense to keep him around. (i mean, we have McBreen doing it ATM which is obvs his reward for killing the gypos in all those losing GF's hahahahaahahah **** the gypos).
BUT
seeing as though we DO have a gypo in charge i just imagine he blinked at Boogaards agents' suggestion he might leave and he just threw someone elses money at it in the hope it went away.

So unlike this club... what a great signing!
I think this shows how far we have come under the current management, the fact we now keep players.
Release clause has to be in there, shouldn't be a any good young Aussie players without one in A-League!
I think this season we will see some great young guys really perform this season.
The main three being Dimi, McGree and Mauk in my opinion.

Gatty's got an article in the Australian about how the US tariff on China could effect Martin Lee's investment in the Jets.
EXCLUSIVE
RAY GATT
SPORTS REPORTER
The ripple effects of Donald Trump’s aggressive trade war have reached as far as a soccer team in Newcastle, whose *Chinese owner’s financial commitment has been put in doubt by a 25 per cent US tariff.
Multi-billionaire Martin Lee has considered a big chop to the budget of his Newcastle Jets after watching his LED lighting fortune cut in half in only five months.
His industry was slapped with the tariff in an effort to lessen the trade imbalance between the US and China.
Mr Lee bought the Jets from Football Federation Australia for $5 million in 2016, after the governing body had taken the *licence from the previous owner, fallen coal baron Nathan Tinkler. Mr Lee was considered a billionaire at the time, but the plunging share price of his Ledman Opto-electronics Group clearly has him worried about assets such as the Jets, which hosted and lost last season’s A-League grand final to Melbourne Victory.
The Australian can reveal that Mr Lee approached Jets management several months ago and floated the idea of cutting as much as $600,000 from the players’ wages bill.
While sources say he eventually pulled back, given the enormous effect it would have on the club’s chances of success this season, it is clear he remains nervous about the situation with the US and the impact it could have on his business interests here and at home.
Mr Lee is chairman of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange-listed Ledman, which makes LED signage. Some of the signage has been used at A-League matches via a deal with outdoor media company QMS. Ledman’s share price has more than halved from more than 11 Chinese renminbi a share at the end of May — just weeks after the Jets lost the A-League grand final — to be trading now at about 5.20 renminbi a share.
The US President has led the effort to impose a series of tariffs on Chinese imports to America, including lighting components.
The flow-on effect for the Jets of the 25 per cent tariff could be disastrous if the situation worsens. Newcastle’s budget is in the bottom half of the 10-team national competition and a significant reduction in the players’ wages budget would have serious consequences for the club’s operations. The Jets have been the least active in the transfer market in the off-season, signing just five players, most on modest wages.
The Jets have had their share of issues with owners during the club’s 14 years in the A-league. One-time coal billionaire Mr Tinkler had his ownership stripped by former soccer boss Frank Lowy after his wealth plunged, only a few years after property developer Con Constantine was forced out when the global financial crisis struck his fortune.
Mr Lee signed one-time Gosford mayor and former Central Coast Mariners boss Lawrie McKinna as chief executive but reportedly lost $3 million in his first season in control of the Jets, who finished with the wooden spoon after winning just five of 27 games.
Mr McKinna, who helped broker Mr Lee’s deal with the FFA, engineered the signing of coach Ernie Merrick. He guided the Jets to second spot on the table before a controversial 1-0 loss in the grand final at home in Newcastle on May 5.
A keen football fan, Mr Lee also owns a Shenzhen team in China and has the naming rights for Portugal’s second division.
The Jets are one of seven of the 10 A-League clubs owned by foreign interests.

More proof that Trump is anti-capitalism much like the bankers, Pharmaceutical companies, and war mongers he supports.
More communists in Washington than there are in Moscow.
For Lee if he can weather the storm he's only going to come back stronger in the future when the US work out the error of their ways.
As far as the Jets go - fan's here are realists and we knew it would only be a matter of time before things turned to shit.
I will add though that even on a reduced budget Martin Lee is the best owner in the A-League. We are lucky to have him on board and would be a shame to see him have to move on.

So I bought a subscription to the herald hoping I can post their stories for everyone. I'll do my best to get them up in a timely manner.
Headline is about the trump economic sanctions on the Chinese and its affect on mr lee.
Chief executive Lawrie McKinna insists the Newcastle Jets will spend more on players this season than in any other despite owner Martin Lee’s business taking a major financial blow.
It was reported on Tuesday that Lee’s company, China-based Ledman Opto-electronics Group, has felt the brunt of a trade war with the US and the introduction of a 25 per cent tariff by President Donald Trump.
As a result Ledman’s share price has halved since May and the impact threatens to flow on to his other business interests, including the Jets.
However, McKinna said the club’s budget remained unchanged despite Lee proposing in July a $600,000 reduction as part of cost cutting across his companies.
“It has been business as usual,” McKinna told the Herald from Germany where he is presenting at a conference and meeting with the boss of Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund. “We are working from the same budget we had approved in July. Martin asked us if we could trim it. I said we couldn’t and explained why. We are going into qualifiers for the Asian Champions League and we need to spend money on the squad. He said: ‘no problem, just be careful what you spend’. Since then we have put on football and administration staff and recently signed Jair.”
The Herald understands that the Jets’ player budget for last season was about $3.7million, around $750,000 above the salary cap. Ronny Vargas was the club’s first marquee signing, whose contract sits outside the cap, since the exit of Emile Heskey in 2014.
“Last year was the most the club has spent on players, and this year will be about the same again, slightly more,” McKinna said.
As well as re-signing Vargas and adding Jair and Kiwi international Matthew Ridendton, the Jets have upgraded and extended Dimi Petratos’ contract. Captain Nigel Boogaard and fellow regulars Jason Hoffman and Steve Ugarkovic have also signed new deals beyond this season.
In the absence of McKinna, football operations manager Joel Griffiths and coach Ernie Merrick will address the players before training on Thursday.
“It is important to reassure them that it is business as usual,” Griffiths said.
Griffiths confirmed that management were working on a budget for next season and said confidence in the club was high.
“We are signing players who are in high demand,” he said.
“Every club wanted Dimi, every club was after Steve. We are in a good place. If things weren’t going well we wouldn’t be on the front-foot signing players.”
Lee bought the Jets from Football Federation Australia for $5 million in 2016, after the governing body had taken the *licence from the previous owner, fallen coal baron Nathan Tinkler after he was unable to pay bills.
That is certainly not the case under the Lee’s ownership.
“You send in a bill and the next day it is paid,” a supplier told the Herald.
A football fan, Lee also owns a team, Shenzhen Ledman, in the Chinese third division and has the naming rights for Portugal’s second division.
The Jets finished last, winning just five of 27 games, and suffered a $3 million loss in Lee’s first season.
However, the club improved dramatically – on and off the pitch – in year two, culminating with a controversial 1-0 loss to Melbourne Victory in front of more 29,000 fans at McDonald Jones Stadium.
Membership numbers and corporate sales have continued to grow and McKinna is confident the Jets will be a break-even enterprise within two years.
“Sponsorship is up and membership is up,” McKinna said. “Last year membership started at 7,000 and finished at 9200. We are currently just under 9000 and hoping to crack 11,000. The squad is looking good and everything is going to schedule.”

NEWCASTLE Jets have finished the physical part of the pre-season, but coach Ernie Merrick wants Ben Kantarovski to get through more work before deciding if the experienced midfielder will be involved in the A-League season opener away to Wellington on Sunday week.
Kantarovski has been hampered by calf and hamstring niggles in the final stage of the pre-season.
He and Kosta Petratos (knee) didn’t participate in an XI v XI game on Friday and instead trained under the care of strength and conditioning coach Chris Smith.
“Ben’s hamstring and calf are fine,” Merrick said. “It is just a case of whether we decide to take him [to Wellington] or make sure he is 100 per cent. We don’t want to bring him back too early when we could give him another week or so and make him really strong. He is unlikely but not entirely ruled out. Ben is such a good player, I might put him on the bench. The way Matthew Ridenton has been playing and Nick Cowburn. We have Steve Ugarkovic, Dimi Petratos and Ronny [Vargas]. We have plenty of defensive and attacking midfielders.”
Ridenton appears the frontrunner to partner Steve Ugarkovic at the base of midfield against Phoenix. Both played well in the intraclub game.
The combination up front Jason Hoffman, Jair, Dimi Petratos and Ronny Vargas was also impressive.
“We can break forward and score quickly through our counter attack and we are also very good at building up, which is the thing we didn’t do too well last year,” Merrick said. “I got out of it [the game] what I wanted and I didn’t want to push them because their work loads have been high. Chris Smith has done a great job with the fitness and Nathan Renwick on our health. The hard physical work is completed. Everything we do now is fairly short and sharp. We will taper down next week and look at the strategy for the Phoenix game.”
Merrick said they would play another intraclub game to finalise preparations.
“They are all dress rehearsals,” he said. “We have practised playing a team with 10 men, against a back-five, a back four, three high, two high etc. You are looking at different combinations

Um, Ray, Andrew Hoole wants a word, he might learn you something.
Denni from our 2008 Jets side scored 47 goals in 102 appearances for Valleta FC [the side rumoured to be signing Bolt].
So if that's an indication of the leagues quality I think Bolt would be crazy not to go.
Piss weak standard of football, lots of coin, two year deal, and opportunity to play Euro Challenge Cup / UEFA and open up massive commercial opportunities.
Mariners should wish him well and simply move on if it's legit.
I have said it before and i will say it again. If the FFA give one cent of the marque fund to the Mariners they should be run out of head office never to be seen or heard from again. That money is for footballers with a proven track record not a celebrity trying to make it as a footballer. If the gypo's think the move to give Bolt a deal makes such great commercial sense then it is absolutely on them to fund the experiment and nobody else.
You are on notice Gallop and O Rourke.

Ahh no it wasn't, it evolved from sharing research data at Universities. It was never designed to provide free info, it has evolved.
If you want quality anything you have to pay for it. Do you work for free? If not why do you expect others to. Once upon a time advertising revenue could support websites but Google and Facebook destroyed that. Who is going to report on local news if there are no locally employed reporters? Or do you expect them to volunteer their time for you?
If any of you believe there are still locally employed "reporters", you are well and truly dreaming

At least it's a type of cancer that responds well to treatments/surgeries, and he should still be able to keep himself reasonably fit to carry on playing eventually

Suppose the point is if you have an Optus box why would you get a Telstra one as well?
What's wrong with Bozza and Peacock?
Do you think either of them are really good at what they do??
Bozza goes from serious to stupid at the drop of a hat
Peadick doesnt come across as your composed ring leader of the team ala Richie Benaud but someone who got the job by default as everyone left so they gave it to the work experience kid
If these are the best Fox can rustle up then god help us

Seems to be a boys club rather than competence based
The way they white anted to get Arnie the Socceroos gig was a farce

Download a free screen mirroring app and you can connect that to your chromecast.
It's not ideal, but better that watching it on your phone.

Foster? What, was Robbie Middleby unavailable?
Remo is a ledge. Bumped into him at the boozer before the Uruguay match in 05. Proper Newy boy.
Was Judith Griggs part of the F1 board that got it stolen from them in Adelaide or was she part of the team doing the stealing? I feel that may give us a better indication of her ability.

Doesn't have a penis how much more information do you need Plague ? That's my 60's/70's answer.
Modern PC answer is that she went to Harvard Business school meaning she's probably not overflowing with ethics but would know how to attract a dollar or two with respect to sponsorships. So I'd expect her to be very good person to have at a club given she's got a track record and is very connected. I think she made a name for herself with signage at GP's - did very well I think.

Story time with Plague.
A few years back my friend was playing for Sydney Uni while he studied there. My friend was no mug, had played rep juniors in Spain and was in a La Liga youth program for a while. He not only could play, but understood the game. One day along came a certain former Australian player and current football TV pundit. He vowed to train the boys up and get them playing proper football just like they did in countries like Spain.
What followed was a 60 min session full of mindless talk, stupid instructions and constant bellowing that players were hopeless and that anyone who questioned him got belittled because he had played for Australia.
He walked off halfway through the training session and never returned, achieving nothing.
Now im not saying that the bloke in the story IS Craig Foster, but imagine having someone like that in charge of your organisation.

It fits with what you would expect from this expert.
Nobody ever does it as well as he thinks it should be done when you watch him "analyse" a game. I wonder what he would think of his own performances in the past?
