    you can say all you want in a survey, the jerks simply don't have the backroom staff to make use of it, and they're shedding more all the time.

    if you want to make a point they'll notice, then call up and cancel your auto-renew payment option.

    loyalty has no place in it. your dollars don't support the players. the club loses money hand over fist with wvery game they host. you're "contributions" of what, $10-20 per game, mean nothing.

    anything less than cancelling and you're an enabler of the shit they're dishing up. newy needs less sheep.
    we will loose

    Just had a bit of look at players coming off contract on Transfermarkt, and by that i mean i was at my desk "working" very hard if my boss asks...

    Luciano Becchio is off contract from the Championship. I know he is 31 but i think someone coming from the Championship, if competitive, would be a step above most players in our league.

    Where would you guys class the HAL level on the scale of English leagues, or some of the lower leagues around Europe?

    Second Division.

    Everyone forgets they play 46 game seasons plus cup ties in shit conditions for most of the year.

    Put those blokes on a week to week preparation and they would kick the shit out of HAL sides.

    Don't forget we have Mass Luongo playing League 1 and Bailey Wright Playing League 1 also.

    if we were struggling we'd have someone trying to improve us. We are happy where we are at.

This only takes into account players who have played a game for us, so the likes of Tando Velaphi, John Solari, Ben McNamara, Jason Culina aren't included. Once they played a game, they were counted in the squad. The players released or leaving the club at the end of each season (when compared to who started) is as follows

    S1 = 12 players
    S2 = 9 players
    S3 = 12 player
    S4 = 13 players
    S5 = 11 players
    S6 = 10 players
    S7 = 10 players
    S8 = 8 players
    S9 = 13 player
    S10 = 22 players * (this includes players who are currently re-negotiating so number may reduce).

    If we look at the two seasons where the fewest changes occurred, we all know what happened in Season 3, while just missing out on the finals in Season 9 it was our highest ever season points tally.

    By my count we may have 15 spots to fill on the roster. And while I agree with many that a cleanout was needed after years of mediocrity (disregarding the appalling manner in which some of these "partings" have occurred) it's perhaps too much too soon. Where are we going to locate 15 players who can form a team and be of a standard which can compete? We're a hard sell at the moment to any player, and if some of the media reports are correct about reneging on promises we're going to be even less attractive.

    I'm fearing for us next season because after what we all thought was our last major change in Season 8 with the likes of Taggart, Brillante, Cooper coming on board, it takes at least a season for the squad to gel.
    Dear Herald. What topic would you like me to bring up next week so you can write about it?

    do an article on crowds and how crowd takings have declined since Stubbins came on board

    continue the current trends into next season for both season ticket holders and game day crowds, and show that by the end of next season, with Stubbins still in place, crowds will not only be lower than the number of season ticket holders, they will will drop below zero

    e.g. last season we had 10,003 members

    crowds went from 11,884 in the first game against Victory to 4,162 in the second to last game against Perth

    that means 5,841 with tickets didn't bother to turn up

    if, as seems likely from talk about the town and straw polls on this website, we get fewer than 5,000 season ticket holders next season - we may well get a crowd for the next game of –841

    I'm sure you can use your fancy statistical analysis to firm up these numbers but you can't ignore these trends
