Agreed, he was dire and one of the reasons why Adelaide were so poor too.

I felt it was more to do with him not working in with isiais well tbh. I hold higher optimism for him if he played in with Stevie UG
    OK

i would take both, Kruse would definitely be a priority . Make Kruse the Australian Marquee his wages pretty much need to be out of the cap. i would take Holland however i dont think we will even make a play with Brown in there i believe he will partner Stevie Ug in midfield under Merrick

that would leave us a foreign #10 and Chinese attacker (1 of those marquee wages)

that then leaves us with the need of a CB, Spira has been mentioned just dont know the sort of wages he would be fetching?

I think, if he ends up in the A-League, Kruse will end up at Roar. They need to replace Broich, Borello and Maclaren.

He didn't leave Brisbane in very good circumstances last time. A lot has changed at the club since but he may not want to go back?

The names being thrown around are crazy... why are we all thinking we have a chance with these guys? Is there a sense of optimism here? I really hope for once we aren't let down and we sign some of these good names being thrown about

This is the first off season under Ledman, McKinna and Merrick so lets see what they can do. Merrick has a reputation in the game and I think he will target players to help us win

And why shouldn't we target these players? Do we want to target lesser players straight off, whinge we didn't target better players and spend the whole season complaining about the dross we are watching?

Lets show some ambition for once. Change the culture around the club.

Some very interesting comments from Griff... I take from that we are definitely in the market for a marquee!

Yes he left before the Ange revolution.
When he first played brisbane as a victory player he just got thumped by everyone, i remember it was pretty spiteful!

Kruse is nailed on for Victory imo, if he were to return that is

Isn't it just refreshing to get some honesty and opinion out of someone in management rather than the dross 95% of them spit out at regular intervals.

    Hail Griff.

Victory already have 2 marquees for next year, Kruse would certainly be a marquee.

He be the Tim Cahill marquee

If the Sydney and Melbourne teams can't get that up he be the Chinese Refugee Marquee where HAL clubs save Aussie players from CSL clubs

Rules get amended for the Sydney and Melbourne teams

On that theme, Ibini has gone to the MLS & SFC will almost certainly let Holosko go. I can't see them not enquiring about Kruse.

Back on the Holland at Adelaide, proving porksey wrong thing, having heard from some Adelaide fans the general consensus from them was Isiais was playing as the deep midfielder with Holland asked to basically replace Mauk as the 8, and that's why Holland looked quite poor. They all point to one game right at the end of Holland's Adelaide time when Isiais was out, and Holland played the deep midfielder, and they all reckon Holland looked superb that game.

Let Holland be the "Isiais", and let Stevie UG be the "Mauk", and I predict good things.
    OK
