Not sure if we have a coach to fix it either
The Japs just exposed the flaws in the Dutch Mango Sucking coaching philosophy that we have swallowed

They allowed us to play to it knowing full well we were not technically talented enough to pull it off

They gave us the ball in good positions on the pitch for them and we're happy to get organised and deny space where we could hurt them

As a result it opened up space for them to exploit on the counter aswe invariably coughed the ball up

But thanks to the Dutch Mango Sucking culture we can't mix it up as it all about possession

The Japanese could have played the possession game to beat us as they had the players skill set wise to do so

But they are flexible in their approach and chose the method they did

People are having fun taking pot shots at Ange this morning but this is the reality

The demise was the dumb ****s at FFAs fault for their failings at Yoof development and their failings by swallowing this bullshit Dutch Mango Sucking philosophy hook line and sinker

There are many ways to skin a cat
It high time the FFA learned this

We shouldve followed the German approach imo

Pretty much sums up how Ange was out foxed by his ego
I am a fan of Ange however last night was a very very poor effort on his behalf, Ryan was made look a fool because he wasn't allowed to knock long under pressure, Leckie was wasted doing up and back runs, Irvine looked like he didn't know the role, the whole midfield were within 20 metres of each other, there was no go forward either side of Kruse, so on and so on. He will win a whole heap of admirers back if he swallows some pride and acknowledge it isn't working.

How much do you think the Saudis will be willing to pay to qualify ?
Have Japan really forgiven us for Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Germany 2006, and centuries of small dick jokes.

These are the questions that need to be answered.

Don't forget the Arab countries haven't exactly had a good run since we got to Asia

Bloke going to have hit the jackpot if he plays his cards right

Since the '06 team have we even ever been as good as/let alone 'better' than the Japanese team?

I know we've beaten them but I can't remember ever outplaying them.

We used to beat them easy until Australia stopped being Australian and started trying to look pretty on the park.
We spanked them in the 1970 WC Qualifiers as well. Beat them 3-1 in Japan.
Problem with current generation is they don't address the most important aspect of the game, namely the scoreboard.
Since the mid 90's though Japan have invested a lot into the game - Australia has spent most of their money trying to fool people into thinking they can play.
With the NSL gone and this A-league shit in the way it's not going to improve anytime soon.
Aussie players can make a lot of money being shit these days where as in the past you either made it to the top or you got a regular job - sometimes both.
Also, too much emphasis on size/speed/beep tests these days and nothing on actually playing the game.
Don't get me started on the AIS - absolute waste of breath trying to explain that abortion of an institution.

Have a look at the 2006 Socceroos squad in Germany and the clubs our lads played for. I think Thompson, Milligan, and Beauchamp were playing in the A-League - the other 20 were playing regular football in some of the strongest leagues in Europe.

Fast forward to now and it's a squad of a soon to retire former star and bench warmers for club sides that are hardly household names.

all we've really got is Mooy and Rogic - and it seems impossible to have them in the same team

our national team will get worse before it gets better - a lot worse

Never bothered learning to tackle freed up all his time.
He was just smart enough to make friends with Vinnie Grella.

That dude loved stealing blokes lunch money.

    That slightly the issue

Have a look at Cahill's first goal v Japan

Came from a long throw from Luca$h numbers in the box
Bit of pin ball in the box

    Kewell's goal v Croatia

Ball in few touches on buries the finish

Common theme is we just got it in the box and got numbers in and around the ball
That something we now just don't do anymore

Contrast with the ****wits Dutch Mango suckers who prefer to retain possession from corners and throw ins and refuse to get it into the box as apparently route 1 doesn't work

That is going to take years to alter this damage
