Banging on about how "bad" the squad is are half the problem with this club. Imagine trying to get motivated when you know all the supporters think you're not good enough.
The squad is fine, there's some real talent in there. Easily good enough to finish 6th.
They've let themselves down mentally and haven't been helped by a coach who has made some pretty dubious tactical choices throughout the season.

didn't watch last night's game but i've watched a lot of football this season and if you're telling me that you don't think our side is at least on par with Wellington, WSW, CCM or Adelaide then your judgement is clouded.
at our best this season we've gone toe-to-toe with Brisbane, Victory and City and we should have wrapped a finals spot by now.
This only happens when they players are up for the fight and prepared to give everything which hardly happens at the moment
You're joking right? Our squad is not as good as most of those.
Yes we can lift to scrape some wins but all lower teams can at times.
And supporters criticising players is ok but not ideal if it is warranted. Why on earth would you compliment a player if they are actually not playing well.
Ask any other A-league team owner or manager which Jets players they would want at their current salary and they would piss themselves laughing.
I don't believe we have a single player who should be paid more than $250k per season.
I don't think Nabbout, Hoole, Morten, Brown, Kokko, Ugar, Hoff, and so on are worth $150k tops - any more is ridiculous.
Kanta, Clut, Lei, Mullen, Johny K, and the rest should not be paid even $100k.
If they want more money - let them go.

Problem is we have has 5 days in 23 games.

So people were praising Jones 2-3 months ago when we were looking decent, but now he's completely free of blame despite him setting out the team, the tactics, the subs, the motivation (or lack thereof).
He's not getting a Melbourne City squad next season with players the ilk of Fornaroli and co. If he can't work with our team to at least match last years points total, let alone aim for 6th, this isn't the job for him. As with the EPL, Sunderland in their current financial state will *never* sign players to match the big guys, which means they need a manager that can get the absolute best out of an average bunch. That's where we're at. Blame Lee all you like but if City offer you 200k and the Jets offer you 200k, where are you going to play? Of course we have to pay overs, we're a regional team.

Our squad this year is as shit as it's been for the last 6 or so seasons. Our coaching is just as shit.

Jones might be a shit coach but changing won't help.
Let's just get ready to sign 2 new Visa players who will take a while to fit in with the squad, will under perform and will be replaced at seasons end. Any of our Aussie players in good form will leave and be replaced by rejects, (luckily only 1 of our players has had a decent season, then turned to shite before anyone could sign him)
We will have decent pre-season and then injuries will rob us off 6th place....and so the cycle of rubbish shall continue.
Anyone from Adelaide know who we will be signing in the off season from the 3rd division there??
That shows that we don't have as bad a squad as you say we do. Everyone besides the 2 Melbourne teams and Shitney have a similar level of rubbish in their squads. If we could keep the same team fit and maybe a couple of tactics we could have made the 6. We couldn't stay fit/unsuspended and set up poorly in other games. I'd say thats both the sqaud and Jones' fault.

Our squad is easily as good as CCM's, Adelaide's and probably Wellington's. I'll stand behind that.
The only side that I mentioned who have better squad on paper is WSW, and even then it's not by that much overall.
Martinez makes them better than us.

Adelaid cirio, sanch, carrus is better than us on paper. they do tail off more than Well. Kitto looked good for us hardly rates there. dude... #9th

Yeah so apart from the guy you mentioned the rest of their squads are a bunch of nobodies.
This is how I see our steady decline, after showing patches of what we could have achieved earlier on with a few really good performances, up till now with it all turning to sh*t and unnervingly homing in on the spoon as the season falters to a total capitulation, I do give Jones a large amount of credit for our sh*tness at this point in time...

Martin Lee will have seen enough by now to be showing Jones the door before the pre-season even starts. I can't see anything less than 3 wins from the last four games being able to save his job now. And that may not even be enough.

Yeh, Jones hasn't showed me anything at all. The players all take some responsibility as well. 0.5 of a coach, 0.5 of a team and 0.25 of a season.
Anyway. Lee has seen the nature of the club and players, which he always said he was going to do, now he knows he needs more money to make us competitive.
Get a coach you are gonna open the kitty for them to use over 3 years.
