Melbourne City FC 1 – Newcastle United Jets FC 1

Brisbane Roar FC vs Newcastle United Jets FC

5pm AEST Saturday 8th April 2023

Kayo Stadium, Redcliffe, QLD

Furns is joined by Matt to talk over dropping two points at the death (again) to draw away against Melbourne City.

A game where the Jets had the lead and a man advantage after City had Scott Jamieson sent off just before halftime, saw the age-old frailties crop up as City managed to bundle the ball into the net from a corner just before full time to draw. The guys talked over the lineup and performances, and asked why we keep doing this.

Talk then moved on to rumours surrounding a new fullback from WSW before the guys previewed the away game against Brisbane and gave our tips for the other games in Rd 23.

Furns is joined by Matt to talk over dropping two points at the death to draw at home against Perth Glory as well as some news on expansion

They talked over the lineup and performances of players across the team and where the game was positive and negative.

Talk then moved on to talking about the National Second division and only one team from NNSWFF being involved. Then the expansion news regarding the A-League was discussed regarding two new teams in Canberra and Auckland in 2024/25, and further expansion possibilities in 25/26.

Newcastle United Jets FC 1 – Western Sydney Wanderers 1

Newcastle United Jets FC vs Brisbane Roar FC

745pm AEDST 27th January 2023

McDonald Jones Stadium, Newcastle, NSW

Furns is joined by Andy to talk over a lot of Jets news in the past week. First, the lads talk over a draw at home against WSW.

Some decent performances in patches of the game, however a draw seemed a fair result and talk centred around players in different positions to the previous games and tactical adjustments.

The contract situation around Angus Thurgate was also discussed at length with both in agreement that he should stay forever.

Talk moved over the upcoming home fixture against Brisbane and then tips for the rest of Rd14. Some transfer talk regarding Jordan Elsey departing for Perth and (Rory) Jordan going on loan to APIA in the NSW NPL, before talking about our new Japanese import Manabu Saito.
