Furns (@SquadronNewy) Andy (@ajlane1) Matt (@ego2k) & Luke (@MrGlass23) review @NewcastleJetsFC @ALeague 2019/20 season
The team get together on Zoom for a 2 hour dissection on the Newcastle Jets 2019/20 season in one of the weirdest season of the A-League. They talk over their thoughts on the squad we began the season with, the players and the coach’s performances during the first half of the campaign under Ernie Merrick, the sacking, the transitional period under caretaker Craig Deans before Carl Robinson joined the club and led a positive turnaround in style, mentality and results despite enormous odds during a global pandemic. Some player stats were discussed before the team gave their votes on the Players of the Season awards (two of which will require listener votes to decide a winner!), before the guys gave their thoughts on the long off season ahead and what needs to happen for the footballing public to get enthused about football in Australia again.
Furns (@SquadronNewy) from The Jetstream (@JetstreamNewy) is joined again by @NewcastleJetsFC CEO @LawrieMckinna ahead of the @ALeague restart
A week out from the season resuming we thought it time to get some up to date info on the goings on around the Jets. So Lawrie joined us to answer questions on the @FFA and @ALeague regarding the Melbourne teams, salary cap, new broadcast deal with Fox and the season switching to winter. He then chats about the team training and how the COVID restrictions are affecting the normal running of the club. He also provides an update on the @WLeague and a question regarding using No. 2 Sportsground more often.
He then provides some updates on player contracts and the financial health of the Jets before addressing the current news around Martin Lee, the state of the sale of the club and the potential new owner. Lawrie then talks about the upcoming games and the possibilities of tickets for members and the public before finishing off answering some general fan questions and which players are looking good for the first game back away to @SydneyFC
