We were very honoured to have Novocastrian and former Newcastle Jets & Perth Glory defender Josh Mitchell join us this episode to help preview this weekend’s fixture.
After the opening question and the second installment of #BeersWithBodes, the hosts start things off having a chat with Josh about his new club Eastern in the Hong Kong Premier League, Chinese football, where he grew up and what clubs he played for in Newcastle and his experience with player agents.
Discussion then moves to general impressions around the upcoming game on Saturday, the horrible stats we have against Glory, squad ins and outs, the possible improvement with the inclusion of returning players and likely starting XI, along with tactics and shape required to win. We then jump to an interview that Furns conducted with Blayne (@BlayneTreadgold) from @FarPostPerth podcast to discuss the Perth perspective for the upcoming match.
The panel then return to discuss Glory’s recent run of results before giving the predictions for the game. The panel then give their predictions for the rest of the A-League round, as well as the upcoming Jets NYL game. They then finish out the podcast with the news the Jets are looking to sign Shane Smeltz or Mark Bridge if roster spots become available. and whether they think either of them will improve the current squad.
