In this episode Furns was joined by Matt for an in-person recording to chat over a bunch of games since our last episode prior to Christmas.

We started off with our thoughts overall on the run of games that sees the men’s team saddled with the moniker of #BoxOfficeJets the club as high as 3rd on the ladder. Then the discussions covered our style of play. We broke down what we were seeing as we watched the highlights packages on Paramount+ for each game. Points we covered included the goals, misses and significant events during the games.

We covered off the WSW game in a little more detail than the previous games. Then we previewed the upcoming fixture on Friday night against Wellington. Which players are likely to start, will we see Zach Clough, etc were all discussed.

Lastly, we finished the episode by giving our predictions for the game and then for rest of the fixtures in Round 14.

In this episode Furns is joined by Andy and Clarkey after a few weeks off to chat over all the games we missed in the Mens competition.

Talk started with a great crowd and result in the Matildas friendly against Korea in Newcastle, and fantastic news that Dr Emma is now engaged!! Much congratulations to the happy couple 🙂

Then we moved onto the games that took place while we have been off (again!!) starting with a smash-and-grab away win vs City, a smashing at home against WU and dropping points against Macarthur which nearly made Furns smash his TV.

We all gave our opinions on those games and whether minimal changes to the starting lineups may have contributed to some of the performances.

Chat then moved on to the home loss against Phoenix. We discussed the starting lineup, performances, goals, and flashpoints including a yellow card for simulation to Kota despite having clearly been tripped by a defender. We also discussed whether we are still a realistic chance of making the finals.

Then we talked about our recent Jets CEO appointment Tain Drinkwater who arrives with an impressive CV and local knowledge. A bit of time was spent delving into the news around Rob Stanton leaving at the end of the season, some of the possible reasons and rumours behind why, and who might  come in to replace him.

To wrap things up we previewed Saturday’s F3 Derby for the Men and gave our predictions for the rest of Round 26.

Furns and Matt return after (again) a week off to go over the Jets performance in the penultimate round of the A-League Men against Wellington. We discussed the starting lineup, performances of some of the players and the team overall across the two halves of football, as well as the goals, and a result against a team challenging for the Premiers Plate.

Then we moved on the Jets Women who played their 1st leg of the semifinal in Maitland in front of a packed house. Unfortunately it was advantage Melbourne City who ran away 3-0 winners, leaving the girls a mountain to climb away from home in the 2nd leg. We believe they can do it, and fingers crossed they will on Sunday.

Finally, we covered off this weekends Men’s match against the Mariners at home in the final round of the regular season and gave our thoughts whether the Jets can spoil the Mariners getting their hands on the Premiers Plate. We also gave our predictions on the rest of the games in the round.
