The Jetstream Review – Wombats and Shuttlecocks

Furns (@newyboys) is joined by David (@JeterPool), Body (@BodyNovo) Dr Emma (@Synapse101) and Peter (@OeterB) to review the @NewcastleJetsFC loss to @gomvfc in the 2016 @FFACup

The podcasters decided to record this episode shortly after fulltime at the Premier Hotel. After furns forgot the opening question, the team jumped straight into discussing the Jets exit from the FFA Cup at the hands of the Victory at Magic Park on Wednesday night. We give an overview of the game, before jumping into more detail on the game, rate all the various players performances and discussed the formation and tactics. After individually nominating our man of the match, we also had a brief chat about the Melbourne Victory.

After some prompting, the opening question closed out the review. Stay tuned at the end for post match interviews from Dave and furns with Jets debutants @DevanteClut and @WayneBrown2121 after fulltime. We apologise for the sound quality for the interviews, unfortunately we had no shelter from the wind when interviewing the players.

The Jetstream Preview – 2016 FFA Cup Round of 32

Furns (@newyboys) is joined by David (@JeterPool) and Body (@BodyNovo) to preview the 2016 @FFACup Round of 32 fixture between @NewcastleJetsFC and @gomvfc.

After the opening question, the lads discuss the upcoming Jets fixture against the Victory at Magic Park on Wednesday 3rd August, the lack of match practice in the lead up to the game, what the club could do to improve this situation, Scott Miller’s comments in the lead up to the game, our squad situation and what players they are looking forward to watching on Wednesday.

There is also an interview that David conducted with Jason from the Melbourne Victory supporters podcast For Vucks Sake (@ForVucksSake). David and Jason discuss the Victory side of the upcoming match, recent performances against Newcastle, preseason performances in the ICC and player turnover.

The Jetstream Offseason – Lawrie McKinna (+Scott Miller bonus) Interview

In another offseason episode Furns (@newyboys), Dave (@Jeterpool) and Michael (@BodyNovo) sit down and interview new Jets CEO Lawrie McKinna (@LawrieMcKinna).

We ask a variety of questions to Lawrie as well as some questions submitted by fellow Jets supporters. We find out his initial impressions of the club, what the plans for the club are in the immediate future, the future of the Emerging Jets and Womens teams, questions on community ownership & engagement, and a bunch of other topics. And we also find out the status of the jets shaped hats.

After the Lawrie interview, we were also able to briefly interview Jets coach Scott Miller (@ScottGMiller). We ask Scott about his recent trip overseas, the status of some of the fringe players in the squad, what Wayne Brown brings to the team and the preparations for the FFA Cup fixture against Melbourne Victory. Due to time constraints, we weren’t able to ask as many of the fans submitted questions as we wanted. We will endeavour to interview Scott again at a later date.
